Unable to turn sound on, picture is fine. volume numbers increases but still no audio

Sony bravia 52 I have no sound,picture is fine. The remote appears to turn sound up but no sound.

  1. hook up your cable box to another TV check it.
  2. reset the TV by press and hold the [^] on the remote and press [power] on the TV.

Get a picture but no sound

Unplug,replug the tv about an hour later.Let the tv reset it self.Go to the menu,go to Audio setting,go down reset.The tv audio will work again.Not,than ur Tuner board is dead.Must be repalced.

It's likely that the volume on your cable box at the new place is set much lower than your old place, so you have to turn it up.

Turning up the television too loud will cause the annoying chirping in some cases.

Try using the cable box remote, and turn up the volume on your cable box, as you turn down the volume on your television.
