Hi,
Most if not all external speakers for 2way radios just uses two wires to 2 pins going to a mono baby phone plug. There are some models/versions that uses proprietary connector but very seldom.
The connection is similar to a mono earphone except of course that instead of an earpiece, it uses a speaker/enclosure.
Hope this be of some help/information. Post back should you need additional information and pls include brand/model of the radio.
Good luck and kind regards.
Hello this will depend on the model and kind of radio, mobile, or portable, of course the brand.
To be specific on the pins I need the model and brand.

First make sure that your TV has an audio OUT. Most do not. If you do then you can plug into that but you will have to go into the menu on the TV under audio and turn on the external speaker feature. If you do not have an audio OUT then you will have to hook you speaker to the audio OUT of your home stereo system and hook the source output to the input of your stereo. Source being (dvd, cable box). In that case you need to turn off the internal speakers on the TV and just run it through your home stereo system.
There should be a way to do that. 1st make sure speaker jack is fully inserted. If you still have same problem try normal headphones and see if there still is foreign hum- then if headphones work, check the size of both the jacks to see if there the same- you might just have wrong size jack. If that is not the problem the Impedance(ohm symbol) is probably wrong and the phone doesn't have enough power to drive your speaker.. Use a speaker with same Impedance, you might have to use a speaker with its own power supply to get appropiate volume. You could try your PC external speaker. I hope this has been helpful.
Most new televisions will not allow to just hook up a speaker to them. You find Coaxial or optic audio outputs. These can only be hooked yup to a compatible external home theater system or soundbar. Most manufacturers today make wonderfull aftermarklet audio systems to help you enjoy the audio portion of a broadcast better. The amplifier in most new flat screens is not 10 watts, so driving an external speaker is out of the question. YOU WILL DAMAGE THE TV!
you need to wire up the speaker to the orange and black wire. orange is speaker positive and black is speaker ground the other wires are as follows
thick black= dc ground
orange= external speaker positive
black= external speaker ground
green=gps data in
brown= gps ground
yellow= nc
If you have audio out RCA jacks then you can hook up some computer speakers that have RCA jack inputs. If you don't have audio outputs and your TV has a HOT chassis then you won't be able to do it. If your tv has a switching power supply then you can install a jack to TV speakers, so they disconect when you hook up your other speakers, if you try and hook up speaker to the TV speakers then the impedence will change, and your audio output IC will get hot and short out.
on my dell one male pin goes into the monitor and the other male pin goes intop the computer where the speakers normally hook up hope this helps ok please keep me posted on this ok best regards mike
