Most generally use a chandelier bulb that has a small base. It shouldn't exceed 60 watts.

Uuscrew front door -- two screws at bottom left and right of door. Then unscrew logs again at bottom left and right and replace the bulbs.

i would try testing the thermal fuse/s first as this is the main factor of fault within these units when you find the blown thermal fuse replace it with the same values as the one blown.
