The hob is touch activated. I was cooking on a high temperature on two hobs and it went off. This can happen occasionally if there is water on the hob near the controls. Now i can not start it again - no lights, no start-up beep.
i have checked both the accessible (mains ) fuses, they are OK. Is there an internal fuse or a way to re-start, or is it dead?

Re: Hob light up.
I take it the two fuses you mention were the house fusebox and the fuse in the outlet in your kitchen?
If you know the mains is getting to the hob and nothing at all is lighting up on the panel then this sounds like a job for the professionals.
I can't find any mention of a reset button or user acessable fuse in the manual.
The only thing left to do is check the main wire connection underneath the hob - if it is accessable. (switch off at the wall first!)

i presume that you have a induction cook top. if so not all pots and pans will work on them. i have never had one but i do know this could be your type of problem. do some research on what pans to use on a induction stove.
Did you crack your hob by means of impact or did it happen on its own accord?
I have a neff induction hob and has just cracked in 3 directions while cooking this evening. I am just trying to determine if there is a common fault with this neff product or I am just unfortunate. Mine is under warranty and have a engineer coming on Monday, so have the whole weekend with no hob as I have been advised not to use it.
Our hob has the same problem. I would really like to know the reason for this! Try using a rubber eraser instead of your finger - this works every time with our hob. Covering Up and Down arrows with the rubber, zeros it instantly just like using both fingers. Hope this helps.
