Have a PI-1500 Schumacher that I just got and trying to hook up to a litium Ion battery with charged voltage of 15.86 - lights on inverter light up(red and green) but no power output--- Is this battery have too high of voltage when full charged for inverter to work or would it be something else---- thanks t

s, most importantly "Check the manual" If you don't have one, search the web.
Common reasons include:-
Battery/supply voltage too low
Battery/supply voltage too high
Output current/power too high
Battery/input current too high (as a result of excessive output loading)
Inverter over temperature
Output voltage, frequency etc might also be monitored.
Whatever it means, it is indicating 'something' is not normal, and it requires investigation. Possibly the inverter has permanently failed; possible it is a temporary condition which can be corrected.
Try disconnecting the load, try freshly charged batteries, try letting it rest & cool down etc. & see if the fault indication clears...

For connecting multiple items to it, without knowing where the pos and negs are its hard to say exactly what they are. Is it on the input or output side of the inverter? Do you have a connector to connect to the cig lighter plug or battery terminals??

When was the last time u replaced the litium battery?If 2 years or more the litium battery has not been change.Yes,it is the litium battery issue.

But u if plug in the A/C power adaptor charger in the DVD player still work?Could be the A/C power charger adaptor itself have problems too.Yes,than it is the litium battery not taking any more charges.Tries website like Amazon.com,Ebay.com to buy a new exact litium battery or a compatible one.These websites should have A/C power adaptor charger too.

Take out the litium battery.Plug in the charger adaptor alone to get power,see if the portable DVD player work.Yes,than the litium battery is dead,not taking in any charges.Tries websites like Partstore.com,Amazon.com,Ebay.com to buy a new exact litium battery or a compatible litium battery.

This unit will assume a battery voltage less than 1.5 volts means the battery is sulfated. The flashing yellow light means it has gone into 'desulfate' pulse mode using pulses of high voltage to try and convert the lead sulfate back into sulfuric acid and lead plating. It will do this for about 8 hours on the charger I have. If the voltage has not raised to a level that can can accept a normal charge it will abort the pulse mode and stop trying to charge it. You will need to unplug and replug in the charger to try again. Always check the temperature of the battery while charging it and especially if the charger is in pulse mode. Stop charging if the battery is hot. *always wear safety gear*

The heat sink is not the problem. It was not the voltage but if connected with opposite polarity to a charged battery may lead to this damage.

You should replace the diodes and wires. I hope the other elements are good.

Ah, I see, it seems what you have is a power pack. If so it would contain a gelcell battery, probably 12 volts. If this is true, then you may charge it with any 14-16 volt wall charger. You have to make sure you observe correct voltage and correct polarity when connecting up. Also you may have to obtain and change the plug on the charger wire.
I'm assuming the battery DC output is inverted to AC and you use it to power small AC appliances.
