I have edited an e-mail address for a contact and when I type in the first two or three letters of the person's name the old e-mail address comes up. I have set the new one as my preferred e-mail address. I can't figure out why this is happening.
Thats because old email address is saved in auto complete list
>we can delete the email address while typing the name just highlight it and push delete,
>or lets delete this regsitry key (this might delete whole auto complete list ) and it will re-create the list as we send messages
WINDOWS MAIL AUTO COMPLETE : :HKEY_CURRENT_USERs\Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Recently Used Addresse
Okay,
based upon that fact that you are using Vista mail (which obviously has problems) I would recommend that you backup the data in the mail client, install Office 2003 Pro, and use that mail client. It is better, but Loyed is right if you really want to continue using vista mail I would delete that registry key, or you can download this software,

If you need some more instruction on what to do, or how to fix this problem and I will give you a detailed set of instructions.

Outlook Express?
Thunderbird?
etc...
