We have a Sony Grand WEGA KDP-57XBR2 and it refuses to turn on. The stand by button blinks 10 times, then it stops for about 5 seconds, and starts again. The TV just won't turn on. Why? What can we do to fix it with out getting a technician out and pay $300 to fix it?

There are three service documents for you there. They take PayPal or credit card.
I have used them before and the documents can usually be downloded within a day if not immediately.
Hope this helps.
Power supply board just die.It can be dead at anytimes.Tries websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
Replacing the dlp lamp is pretty easy actually. Many vendors come with instructions when you buy the lamp. not to mention there are many tutorials online that can show you how to do it. I suggest buying the lamp from DLP Lamps.com, good customer service and each order even comes with rubber gloves!
Hi, this is a very common failure, you need to replace 2 IC chips on your power supply board, marked on the top of the IC`s is this number: MCZ3001D you can purchase them here if you are very proficient at soldering & un-soldering, and the board has to come out of the tv to do this, you might want to call a tv man for this one, but it will fix your set, happy holidays, BMW Rider
I had the same problem about a 8 months ago. I searched online and found that there is a problem with one of the color guns. They need to be replaced. I don't remember where I found the information, but there is a number or something to call for this problem. I think that my authorized sony repair man knew of the problem, there are other models that have the same problem. Anyway, sony replaced all three guns in my tv FREE of charge, and my tv was no longer under warranty. They did all repairs and fixed my tv.
