Won't turn on/critical error

I turned off the phone to charge when I tried to turn it on, nothing, now the next day it tried to turn on and Critical error flashed. All I have done is taken the battery out and put it back in.

    CRITICAL ERROR:

    CAA5

    A1AD

This is all that will come up on my razr. My daughter had dropped it in water quite a while ago and we didn't use it for a long time.

I added new music to my memory stick, and now when I attempt to view the new contents, it says "updating music files" and then freezes, then pops up with the Critical Error CAA5 A1AD and just flashes it constantly..

I have same problem. Flashing and critical error all the time. Can I find my first FW? I don't know which firmwear was on my phone at first place.

  • Anonymous May 25, 2009

First, my phone would work, but without the back on.
Then, I thought I needed to charge it or something, but then the critical error thing came up....so I took out the battery and put it back in like 50 million times.
Then it started working again, but then it stopped!
My phone wouldn't turn on, it would just flash Critical Error: CAA5 A1AD!
But now, I just turned it back on and it worked!
Then, I just closed it, and it SHUT OFF!!!

The problem with the phone is in the firmware. There are a few websites who will flash the phone for you for a fee or you can take the phone to a repair shop to be flashed. The water damaged one will need to be taken apart and cleaned first. If you have any questions i provide these services my self and i would be glad to help!

After losing my phone in the snow for three days, it had to dry out, it's been working perfectly fine, but here for about a week now, it freezes and wont let me push any buttons. Then I take the battery out and put it back in. Once my phone comes on, it keeps flashing "Critical Error CAA5 A1AD". Anyone know how to fix this problem?

SOURCE: won't turn on/critical error

Wow, alot of people have the same problem as i did. You phone is busted, broken. You can't retrieve anything from the phone drive. So all you have is your sim card.

My Kindle won't charge

If the battery isn't too far gone, here's how to revive it: Plug the device into the Kindle A/C adapter (not your computer) and let it charge for a few hours. Be sure the charging light is lit -- sometimes a drained Kindle will stop charging a few seconds after you plug it in. Unplug and replug until the light stays on steadily, then leave it alone. Most of the time you'll come back to a restored Kindle. If not, go on to step 2. If you still see the same Critical Battery screen after charging, unplug the USB cord, then hold the power slide to the right for at least 20 seconds. Release the power slide, then immediately press and hold the Home key for another 30 - 45 seconds. Once the Kindle's screen begins to flash, release the Home key. The eReader will boot to recovery mode. To continue, press and hold the R key until the screen flashes again. After the device is finished rebooting, you may see the Critical Battery screen once more. If so, plug in the USB cord and wait for the Kindle to return to the Home screen. - See more at: http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/kindle-critical-battery-error#sthash.Rtxwp4El.dpuf

How To Restore Your Kindle If It Experiences Critical Battery Error

f you can't get past step 3, the battery might be too far gone. Contact Kindle customer service via phone (866-321-8851) to walk through extra troubleshooting steps. If they can't revive it, Amazon will usually replace the eReader for free. - See more at: http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/kindle-critical-battery-error#sthash.Rtxwp4El.dpuf

Check and replace its main power regulator board. With plasma TVs, there is no repair to this board. After replacement to this board, a critical adjustment should be done; Va & Vs voltages. Hi!

You can try these steps to solve this problem:

1. Connect Kindle to a different USB.
2. Verify the charge light at the base of the Kindle is on.
3. Restart Kindle by pressing Home > Menu > Settings > Menu and select "Restart."
4. Leave the unit charging for 30 minutes

If the problem persist, contact Kindle for repair options.
