Using a video transmitter to extend your cable network to another TV in the...

When I first purchased a cable plan I only had one TV in my house and it seemed like a waste to get multiple cable boxes for TV that I had not yet purchased. When the prices came down on TVs I decided that it was time to get a set to go in my bedroom upstairs but I didn't have a cable box to connect to the set.

I could have gone out and spent a $100+ on a new bulky cable box that is not really all that pretty or I could get a video transmitter that will extend my signal to the upstairs TV set for around $50. Even though it takes a little bit of set up the results are great, I can even use the one remote on both television sets.

To set up your video transmitter first you have to take the transmitter and receivers out of the box and make sure that they are both set to the same channel. This will ensure that they will read each other. Then you take the cables that came with the transmitters and connect them to the back of the cable box, matching up the yellow, red and white cables to each other. Position the transmitter box so that it is lined up with the signal transmitter of the cable box.

Then you want to go upstairs to the second TV and connect the receiver to the back of the television set the same way that you connected the transmitter to the cable box. Take the remote from the set downstairs and it should have extended the connection of the cable box to both TV sets. Now you are able to control the cable box from upstairs and watch your stations on both TVs.

Dvd/vcr recorder magnavox model mwr20v6, i got probelm hooking up my dvd/vcr recorder to my cable converterbox an tv , because i broke the antenne/ out socket on the back of the unit, how can i get it to...

Hi,If I understood correctly you broke antenna out socket of Cable box..ok no problem, your TV and cable box should have other jacs/socket for this connection as well..
Take the A/V output of your cable box into TV possibly with RCA cables..than you can select the channel thru Cable box on TV ..(AV mode needs to be selected on TV )

** in order to listen and watch your
magnavox DVD 's "2xRCA audio" and "1x RCA Video" cables "OUT" should go to Tv or Cable box "IN" connections separately ..("IN" goes to "OUT" of other ..pls remember,Always reverse connected ) (audio will come thru Receiver and TV.)

Since you successfully connected your Receiver to play video on TV (one way only ) ,here is the second reverse action if you wish to listen or RECORD a program on your TV on
magnavox
** you need to connect "Audio Output " as can either be : RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" or "SCART "connector " of your TV or Cable box .( every TV -cable box has different type of Audio out jacks )
** to "iRCA nput or "Optic Cable input"
of your
magnavox (whichever you want ,based on the necessary cables on your hand )

There you go..Tv/Cable box video and sound are both on the
magnavox for recording..

Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know.

I cannot briing in a picture. Upper left corner of picture says it is on channel 4...upper right corner "no programs availab le"How do I program TV to bring in a picture.; I am on Insight Cable.

Typically the cable box is the source of your channel programming. If you're getting the "no programs available" you need to find if that notice is from your TV or your cable box. Check the connections from your cable source to the cable box and from the cable box to your TV.
Make sure that your TV is set on the proper source selection. Most Projection TV's have several (ant, cable A, B, DVD etc) check your on-screen menu for which one and make sure the cable is connected to the proper input ports on the back of your TV.
If you disconnect the cable between the tv and cable box and still get the "no programs "...then it's your TV.. but if you lose that warning, then it's coming from the cable box... If after checking your connections, disconnect the power to your cable box and let it sit for 5 minutes and then reinsert the power to the box and see if you get a reset with signal...... If nothing after all this, contact your cable provider to check their signal to your house and also the cable box.... Hope you have quick success on this!

EWF TV ANT IN BOKEN

It can be soldered back on. With that particular model, I don't know if the connector is connected to the tuner or if there is a litte square anteena box which then feed a cable to the tuner.

Pay tv cable

you may bypass the box by using a straight connector, find the cable that lead to the TV room and connect it to the cable from the aerial antenna.
