It is not the charger. if you connet the (+) and (-) the psp wouldn't work anymore because electricity from the charger you use ran threw the whole psp system.

The polarity of the charger you used is wrong or the wrong voltage, and has messed up the programming n the battery.  You may be lucky if you get a new battery and use the Right charger, It might fix it.  Sony put a battery in the PSP that has a memory chip in it, and I think it will automatically disconnect if the wrong vooltage hits it, or wrong polarity. be warned that I have seen where someone got a new battery and it did not solve the problem. If this happens to you Contact Sony at the following number.

How to charge a psp with usb cable while it's dead

no you should use a computer an dplug it in to it and then an orange light should come on then just leave it there for a few hours untill the light turns green

I was using my psp while it was charging and the charging light turned off, so i naturally assumed that it was fully charged. But a few minutes later the battery died and it wont charge when i plug it in....

Have you tried to remove the battery and put it back in and try to turn it on. Try removing the battery and putting the charger in and starting the PSP. If it starts, it might be the battery. If it doesn't, it's either the plugin for the charger or the PSP is just dead. If it does start with the charger, try putting the battery back in, if it charges awesome. If it doesn't the battery might be dead.

I hi have my psp and it dont want to charge i take the battery out and put it in my cousin's psp and it charges in his and when it's fully charges it works in mine..... so its not the battery, i...

You did a good job in isolating the problem. It does seem that your Power charger port is the culprit. I had the same problem with my unit. What I initially did was I applied slight pressure using my finger pushing the adapter plug in the direction of the start button. Apparently, there was a slight gap between connector inside the PSP charger port and the outside part of the adapter plug. Eventually, I added a small layer of solder to one side of the upper part of the charger plug ( near the top part which is colored yellow ). Dont put too much solder, doing so will cause the adapter plug to not fit inside the port. That fixed the problem for me. !!!As a reminder, please do this if you are experienced in using soldering tools !!!!
If your unit is still under warranty, I suggest you let the Sony Technicians fix it for you.
I hope everything works out. All the best to you.

More that likely your battery that came with the system is dead(meaning it has reched it;s life span) An easy way to tell if your battery is dead, take it out and plug the charger into the psp. Turn it on and see what happens. If it still doesn't work, your psp has power problems and there isn't much you can do about that. You might have to send it in for repairs or get a new one Thank you for your time. Good luck and I hope it works.

Just bought a usb cord charger for my nikon coolpix s203 and its been dead fir a couple of days and I wont turn on

You left your camera on for a couple of days? I'd think your batteries are completely drained. The S203 doesn't charge batteries via the USB port. Try charging the batteries overnight using the supplied MH-63 charger.

If that doesn't do it, please reply to this post and we'll go on from there.

My original ac adapter for my psp burnt out I bought another adapter (universal) and after a couple minutes that one burnt too.Whats up?

its because your not suppose to use universal!!! my cousin has a universal and it takes for ever to Charge the charger was probably to weak for example the psp's charge is suppose to be 5 volts and the charger was probably 3 volts so the poor charger coulnt handle it and burned... try getting a new batterie. and a good charger

Psp won't turn on or charge

There is a lot of things that might be rong 1 it might be the psp slot where the charger goes it might be damaged in the inside and the more u put the charger in the worse i might get. 2 it could just be the charger something might be rong with it from the wire to the top where it goes into the psp slot . 3 There might be something rong with ur psp battery it might just be damaged . Hope i helped . Go 2 a shop and ask them 2 check it for u. L8a
