Goodman furnace GMP075-3 The thermostat was in the off position over night and sometime during the night, the induced blower and blower motor came on. The trouble light on board blinks 5 times. I checked...

Need your model # to check the codes but, this coming back on after turning the t-stat off is rare. You may have been in a lockout and the furnace re-started. Some furnaces try to start three times , then lock out. Time out, then re-start. The codes should be on your furnace blower door. Write back with this info and i could help.

Blower swith in position 1,2,3 no blower, in

Check the cover for the environmental cabin filter. It is located on the far right side of the cowling right below the right windshield wiper. There are a few torx screws that secure the cover and then it pulls out to reveal the cabin filter. The cover (being poorly designed by VW) cracks and during rain the rain runs off the window and soaks the cabin filter. The water from the soaked filter then drips down into the blower motor and shorts out the resistor module at the bottom of the blower motor. The blower will continue to operate at full speed because it is operating on an open circuit without need for resistance for the resistor pack. There is a small access "panel" at the bottom of the blower motor you will need to remove in order to see the problem, you should see a frighteningly burned looking module in there. Good Luck! Hope this helps!

The blower stoped working in my 1999 astro, no heat, no air, no nothing. is it more than likley the blower motor?

Yes and No. They like to burn up the resistors, swithes and blower motors! You will need to trace it down. See if you have power at the blower motor, if not then start working your way back. It's alot easier to get to if you pull the coolant and washer resivor's out, then you have good access to the blower and resistor!
