We have a Samsung pch521r that was given to my son, we can turn it on but we are not able to get a picture. We cannot even set any settings on the tv. Please Help! My son was so excited to get this tv!

I am sure that it was given because the former owner knew there was a fault!

Very commonly the power supply or high voltage sections fail in these. The tubes in projection sets also go weak and cause failure.

If the set is more than 5 years old it will not be worth investing any money in to it. TV's are not very expensive these days. You should buy your son a nice TV set that he can enjoy. The LCD and Plasma displays will far outperform any of these older projections sets.
