Press the FAN & the up arrow @ the same time to get into installation programming. Follow the set up numbers correlating to options in the install instructions...Make sure it is programmed for heat pump & if you have Auxillary heat. Hit Next until you get to the reversing valve position O or B ( reversing valve energized in a call for heat or cool) and switch it to the opposite of what is in the current program. Hit Done & you should be good.

Thermostat Replacement

If you look the model/part number of that thermostat you're looking for on the internet, you should be able to find a PDF file of the owners manual to look at the wire diagrams and it will also let you know if the thermostat is compatible with your current set up with the oil heating and central a/c w/3 zones. RC & RH should be explained in the thermostat manual if the new thermostat wiring has been reconfigured to accommodate your setup. Hope this helps.

Replacing a Honeywell T822l1000 thermostat.

The W terminal is used for heating and goes to a small electric valve in the water line to your baseboard. The Y terminal is for a cooling system. The T822 is wired wrong and is not working. The wiring between R and W is corect for a heating only application. The R terminal is the power source.

Good day! A condo suite has a programable digital thermostat operating on 24v for heat (geothermal heat pump solenoid valve) ac, and a humidifier to control. When the humidifier kicks the fan coil...

Hi, start at the thermostat on this unit if nothing else has been done as far as trouble shooting and repairs. 3 months doesn't mean a thing when it comes to a/c and refrigeration & heating parts. Check the stat operation, or replace it, and I am 99.9% sure this will solve your control problems.
Sincerely, and a good day to you!

I just purchased a house with brand new furnace wired to a RTH2300 Honeywell thermostat. It only has two wires running to it. I can't seem to get it to work in "manual mode"-where I set it on...

?? Connect Wires 5.

Labels don't match?

If a wire does not match any terminal on the thermostat,

see next page.

Quick Installation Guide

Alternate Wiring

If a labeled wire does not match any terminal

designation, see diagram below.

Do not use C, C1 or X wire. Do not use B wire if you already

have O wire. Wrap bare end of wire with electrical tape.

This thermostat cannot be used if your old thermostat had

any two of the following wires: R, RC, RH, 4 and V.

Place a jumper (piece of wire) between Y and W if you have

a heat pump without auxiliary/back-up heat.

?? Connect Wires (cont'd)

Programmable Thermostat RTH2300

7

Set jumper JP1, on the back of the thermostat, if you

have connected a wire to the G terminal.

Incorrect jumper setting: An incorrect setting is

noticeable in a gas or oil heating system. When heating

starts, you will initially feel cold air coming out of the vents

as the fan is running before the furnace has enough time

to heat up the air.

?? Set Heating Fan Control 6.

HG Leave the jumper in this factory-set

position if you have a gas or oil furnace.

HE Place the jumper to this position if you

have an electric furnace.

8

Set jumper JP2, on the back of the thermostat, if you

have a heat pump.

Incorrect jumper setting: The heat pump operation

will be reversed, i.e., it will cool in Heat mode and will

heat in Cool mode.

?? Set Heat Pump Reversing Valve 7.

O Leave the jumper in this factory-set

position if you have connected O wire to

the O/B terminal.

B Place the jumper to this position if you

have connected B wire to the O/B terminal.

1) Install 2 AAA

batteries on the

back of the

thermostat.

2) Align the two

brackets on the

top of the

thermostat with

the corresponding

slots on the top of

the wallplate.

3) Push the

thermostat

against the

wallplate.

4) Tighten the screw

at the bottom of

the thermostat.

5) Turn power back

on at the heating/

cooling system.

I paid $20 last night to talk to someone. He told me how to hook up the Lux DMH110 but when i hooked it up this morning the heater came on when i put it on COOL and the fan just come on when i put it on...

If you have this type of system your thermostat will not work;
  • Multi-Stage Heat Pumps
  • 3 Wire Hydronic Systems
  • Line Voltage Systems (120/240 VAC)

  • This thermostat is only for this type of HVAC systems;
  • Most 24V Heating and A/C Systems
  • 1 Stage Heat/1 Stage Cool: Gas, Oil, Electric, or Single Stage Heat Pump Systems
  • 2 Wire Heat Only Hydronic Systems (Hot Water Baseboard & Radiator)
  • Millivolt Systems (Wall Heaters / Furnaces & Gas Fireplaces)

    1. Never connect a low voltage thermostat to line voltage.
Two wires control a heat only system.
    1. Connect one wire to W and the other to RH.
Two wires control a cool only system.
    1. Connect one wire to RC and the other to Y.
Three wires for forced air heat only system, where the previous thermostat
did not have a clock or timer.
    1. The previous RH or RC wire is the 24-volt transformer wire. Connect it to RH. Leave jumper connecting RH to RC. Connect the forced air heat system to W, and the fan wire to G.
Three wires for a heat only, forced
water system that did NOT have a
    clock or timer.
    1. This system employ 3 wire zone valves. Currently no Lux controls are compatible with this system.
Three wires control a heat only, forced water system that DID have a clock or timer.
    1. Tape off and do NOT install any clock or timer wire. Often they are labeled C or TC. Install the remaining two wires, one to RH and the other to W.
Four wires control a heat only system,
and two of the wires operate clock or timer. The other two wires operate the heater.
    1. Tape off and do NOT install any clock or timer wire. Often they are labeled C or TC. Install the remaining two wires, one to RH and the other to W. The jumper connecting RH to RC may remain or be removed.
Two wires control heating AND cooling.
    1. Currently no Lux controls are compatible with this system.
Three wires control heating and cooling. One wire operates heat, one operates cooling and the third provides 24 VAC.
    1. Connect the 24-volt power wire to RH. Install a jumper connecting RH to RC. This jumper is usually pre-wired. connect the heat wire to W, and the cooling wire to Y.
Three wires control a cooling only system. One wire operates the compressor, one operates the fan and the third provides
    24 VAC.
    1. Connect the 24-volt power wire to RC. Connect the cooling wire to Y and the fan wire to G.
Four wires control a heating and cooling, electric, gas or oil, forced air system that
    is NOT a heat pump.
    1. Connect the 24 VAC transformer wire to RH or RC. Install a jumper connecting RH to RC This jumper is often prewired. Connect the heat wire to W, the cooling wire to Y. and the fan wire to G.
Four wires control a Single Stage Heat Pump. They were labeled: G, Y, R or
RH or RC, With either B or was used.
    1. Do not connect wires to both B and O. Connect the reversing valve wire to B or O, just as the previous thermostat. Install a jumper wire from RH to RC. Connect 24 VAC wire to RH too. Install a second jumper wire from W to Y. Connect compressor wire to Y and the fan wire to G.
More than 4 wires are connected to the
    old thermostat

I installed a Honeywell TH5220d 1029 thermostat on a American Standard AC/Heat pump and the install and setup went fine. It cooles for about and hour and quit. I found the 5 amp fuse at the furnace...

Red wire to R on thermostat red on furnace and red on heat pump Same with white except w1 on thermostat. Blue to common on thermostat common of furnace (probably brown but will be marked) and blue to common on heat pump. yellow to Y on thermostat and straight to heat pump. Orange to O on thermostat and straight to heat pump. If wired correctly with no shorts fuse problem should be solved. commonly people leave enough wire exposed inside the t-stat for wires to short together. This will blow the fuse. Hope this helps. I understand the frustration.

Replaced Bryant T-stat model TSTATBBNB001 with Honeywell t-stat

Your original wiring configuration seems to indicate that you have an air conditioner (not heat pump) and either a gas or electric furnace. If this is the case you may need a different thermostat for your application.
