There is some debris (paper dust, write-off, etc) blocking the the light source in the original scanning unit, just use a moisten (not wet) cotton towel, clean the area. perform a copy function before and after before you clean it, just to verify that you have solved the problem. Please refer to the user manual page 222.how do you get rid of lines going down the page of - 619e1d9c-e8a7-4299-a8c8-3ae61fa8f4d7.png

Outgoing faxes ok. Faxes received have 2 white lines running down the page.

That issue really sounds like the sender may have issues with their machine. If you can copy correctly, and fax out correctly, it is not your unit.

WE HAVE A FAX MACHINE THAT HAS A BLACK LINE GOING DOWN THE PAGE WITH FAX IN AND FAX OUT

For outgoing fax lines, check your scaner rail for any streaks, dirts or similar and clean scaner.
For incoming fax streaks, you can only check your drum unit for lines on surface and replace it, or lines is there because other side has dirt or similar on their scaner.

Hope that helps!

Blank line down left side of outgoing fax or feeder copy

The most common cause of blank (void) lines on a scanned document is from whiteout on the glass where the page is scanned when using the document feeder.
If there is a clear mylar sheet on the bottom of the document feeder, the whiteout may be there instead.

If there was dirt or a dark smudge on the glass (or mylar), it would show up as a black line, but whiteout is white, and shows up as a void (blank) line.

Lines on Outgoing Faxes and Copies from Feeder Is there a way to clean the doc feeder scanner? I have a big line going down the center of the page when I copy or fax from there. Thanks!

Hello,

If you lift the top of the unit so that you can see the scanner glass and clean the surface on the left side and the very end of the scanner you should be ok. The sheet feeder runs the pages through the feeder and down to the glass at the end then back to the feeder and out to the stack of pages. If you try to scan anything with wet ink, highlighter, marker, etc some may come off on the glass and cause the lines to appear. Just use windows on a paper towel, not sprayed on the unit.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.
