The WPS "key" , not PIN, is on a label on your router. Not on your printer.
Use that for setting up your printer. If you're leaching off a neighbors wifi system, you're out of luck.
go into the router page at: http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.2.1 login then go to wps, thats the 8 digit pin. You can hack it using a rtl8187 wifi adapter, linux, aircrack-ng, and reaver-wps to crack the pin but it will take 6-8 hours from what I've read.
If you are configuring your wireless network for the first time there should be no pin required, if there is it should be listed in the manual of the device. If you received this router second hand then you will most likely need to perform a factory reset on it to remove any passwords the previous owner may have set. The default login to the router to access all of the router configuration is user: admin password: admin. To factory reset the router you need to hold the reset button with a pin/paper clip while powering the device on and continue holding it for 15 seconds after powering it back on. This should wipe out all configuration and let you back to stock parameters where you can access the router at 192.168.1.1 and use admin/admin to access and reconfigure your wireless settings from scratch.
modems don't have any settings unless you are referring to a modem/router combo. Routers or modem/router combos, commercial/home grade routers can be reset by locating the reset button, or pin sided hole on the back of the router typically labeled "reset" press and hold for 10+ seconds and this will restore the device to factory settings including passwords.
Normally the PIN is located on the label on the bottom of your router. Google the brand and model of your router and see if there is an instruction manual available for it. For example search for "Encore ENHWI-2AN3 quick setup"
just try it with force placing an adhesive tape on top of it to prevent scratches. many adhesive tape the better to prevent scratches. i know you can do it now. good luck. i hope this will help you.
If at any time you pressed the reset button on the router, it resets it to the factory, out of the box, settings. Have you tried logging back into the router just like when you first set up the laptop and kindle? you may have to start from scratch or log into the router to check what is connected via numbers.
There should be a small pin-hole on the back of the router, maybe even labeled RESET. Pressing this once will simply reboot the router, holding it down for over 10 seconds will revert the router to it's default settings.
The default password for this router is: Username: admin
Password: password
Note: You'll have to reconfigure any and all settings as they will have been erased.
They were set when the router was first installed. If you have lost them then reset the router and it will return to the default ones: the user is - admin - , no login password and no security key. You must set them all again and this time put them on a label and attach it to the bottom of the router
There are two passwords for the router: the WEP/WPA password, which lets you connect to it wirelessly; and the admin password, which lets you change the configuration. If you have lost the WEP/WPA password but know the admin password (or haven't reset it from its factory default), you can connect a temporary cable between your router and your computer, and use the Easy Install Wizard or the manual configuration steps (see manual) to change the WEP/WPA password to something you know. If you do not know the admin password, then you have to reset the router to factory defaults by pressing and holding the Reset button for at least 10 seconds, and then using the Easy Install Wizard to configure it again from scratch.
I have installed everything well. My Wifi signals are well. The only thing is now iam asked to enter the router's pin while configuring from my laptop. So Iam unable to use WLAN on my Laptop.
