Would suggest replacing door for safety purposes only," it could be fine as far as resisting waves",but never sure for how long or if it realy is. An old saying makes sense," Better safe than sorry".

How to replace inner glass panel on Neff H7871 microwave

Hi Bill, I am having a same problem I have managed to order the glass from:-

http://www.4neff.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=876912&query=Neff%20H7871N1GB%2f01&model=H7871N1GB&path=127858

1. Open the door.

2. Take out the 2 screws just behind the handle, on the inside of the door, the door should flop down at the handle end.

3. Hold the door handle and pull the door out. It is only housed in by a slip in hooks at the bottom end.

4. Once you remove the door you will see the inner metal mesh and the inner door behind it.

5. Remove the 16 screws holding the inner glass with a special star type screw driver bit no T30.

6. Once you done that the glass housing holding the inner glass can be carefully prised free and taken off the inner door assembley.

7. Once you done that remove and inner glass, and be carefull to leave the glass glass seal intact, clean around the frame housing and the seal then replace the new inner glass and reverse the process.

PS. Becareful of the inner door once you've removed the outer door, as the hinges holding the inner door tend to shut quickly as there is less weight on the hinges.

It will do the job if you follow these instructions.Good Luck. AL

How do I clean the inside glass on the door - GE Profile JVM1870

I have a Kenmore with similar issues.
Model 665.61639100
Anyway, good luck with this. Hope someone has an answer for you (and me).
Mine has a open slot on the top front of the door. Kinda like a double plate window execpt for the opening in front. Why is this there? I don't know. Weird design. But it leaves for the possibilty of liquid to splash in there leaving it hard to clean (like impossible).

I'm thinking I have to completely remove and disect the door.

Condensation inbetween glass door on GE Spacemaker

Your glass seal has failed and I doubt it makes sense to replace the door. Yes, it can be dangerous as the moisture becomes worse you risk the chance the glass could over-heat and blow out. Sounds like you need to replace it, sorry!

Microwave door glass has slipped down into the frame

What usually happens is there are tabs on one of the inner door panels that holds the glass up.

If one tabs breaks, the other one soon will, then the glass slips down.

If the mesh / screen is still in place and undamaged, and the door is otherwise undamaged, there shouldn't be any leakage.

You or someone you know may be able to take the door apart and use epoxy to fashion new retainers for the glass.

Or you can usually order the specific door panel piece that you need but if you want to, please reply back with your brand and model number so we can help you.

You have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

Microwave serial # xr2004675 superba heating

If the door seals tight & properly and the fine screen / mesh in between the door glass panels is not damaged, there should be no leakage.

But the risk remains that moisture and food particles will get into cracks and crevices and lead to arcing or rust, both of which can eventually damage the mesh.

What is the small curved piece that's falling out? Can you post a photo of it?

When the oven is cooking for over 5 mins part of the door goes a white opaque colour inside the door, it is as if the seal is broken and steam is getting inside the door itself.

That's probably what's happening, but it's not dangerous as long as the internal cooling fan is running and the screen / mesh between the door panels is not arcing or rusting.

It's suggested that you leave the door open for a few minutes any time you cook and notice a moisture buildup afterward.

Small melted hole at microwave door -- doesn't appear to have breached the clear plastic on the interior. Is this dangerous and does this require repair? Thank you so much!

It should be okay as long as none of the holes in the fine metal mesh / screen are damaged or enlarged and as long as the door closes fully and evenly.

Keep an eye on it in case it gets worse or any food or grease get stuck in the hole. That can lead to arcing & severe damage.

Microwave door has burn spots on the glass of the door...

The brown spots are usually grease / smoke deposits. Usually there are indeed two sheets of glass in the door. If the grease is not arcing or smoking, and the metal screen / mesh (that blocks microwave leakage) is not damaged, then it's likely better left alone. It might be useful to boil a few cups of water with a little vinegar inside the microwave to help dissolve the deposits. In case you want to take it apart, I have attached a photo from a similar model that illustrates disassembly of the door. It is not necessary or advisable to remove the door or hinges when disassembling the door.

GE XL1800 Door

OK, I'm no handy man and I just figured out how to do this. Open the door and remove the black plastic cover surrounding the inside glass. I used a regular flat head screw driver to pop this out.

Now I removed the 3 screws holding the inner panel against the glass on the front door. After removing the screws, the inner panel is held in place by a series of plastic clips. Go around the perimeter and pop the plastic clips out so the inner panel including the mesh comes out of the door.

Now you have complete access to clean the inside of the glass door!

I found it easier to do this operation with the door completely off the microwave, but you should be able to do this with the door in place too.
