Red Covergence - No Remote

No--you will NOT get anywhere this way. You need a remote.

I suggest ordering a replacement remote from philips.

Ur universal remote was able to move - + from the convergence grid wright,it is a good remote.The tv convergence board is dead.The tv convergence board the 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors are dead too.These parts must be replaced on the tv convergence board to solved the tv pictures convergence problems.The shop,will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

You can just replace the convergence board which for your model is part # BP95-00415C They are under $100 dollars and are just a plug in board. You should be able to purchase from

Go to Encompass Parts Distrubtion for List of Parts and Prices to your TV type in Model number.
You need to replace either the convergence board or Both ICs on convergence board they are big black ICs STK392-020s Mats has them 1-800-628-1118

go into the customer menu and select convergence with the original remote; if either the red or blue will not move in some direction, you have a bad convergence IC(the WS-55411 uses two STK-392-110 CONVERGENCE IC chips)

what about blue? this is an indication that maybe one of the convergence ic have failed. generally you replace both. falure of the ic can also be sympton of other problems.. The oputput ic resistors. the covergence power fuses. but the first step is to replace the ics

covergence problems and its not adjustable you need work done on the convergence board or a new board and realignment which can be timely.

You have what is known as covergence problems. Ok to begin with. 1 Go into customer menus goto SETUP do you have the "CONVERGENCE" option. If you do not the the likelyhood is you have the fl231 fuse problem and if you can solder and get it i recomend it a simple repair. ok if you have that option then try going in and autoconvergening if that didnt work try manual the red and blue convergence. if in the manual red and blue the crosshair didnt move then you probably have convergence power board problem if only one moved or just move a up and down or left of right then it might be a amp board issue. the other problems it could need a simple factory alignment.

If the red isnt responding via the remote you will need to replace the STK392-110 Ics as the service menu adjustment will not correct it 100% due to the IC being faulty and the red and half the green is controlled by one IC and the blue and other half of green is controlled by the second IC so without changing both ICs the set will progressively get worse. Both ICs are stk392-110. You can get replacements at the following link along with instalation instructions
