Its a GE Profile side by side about 7 years old.
The unit has power, light and fan running, I'm not sure but I think the compressor is not running.

Hi,

Try to check for Warranty protection, and if the time coverage has not yet elapsed. If it has not, try to take to service technician, if it has, then the problem is just the Coolant, a chemical liquid that when its volume is expanded, its temperature drastically drops, its called freon. Try see if you can replace the coolant. :)

Freezer not geting cold

Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer2_bing.gif and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

GE fridge is warm and broken; the freezer is cold though.

Air circulation problem. Evaporator fan in freezer moves some air to refrig. Either fan is not working or air passages are blocked with ice. If ice found, then a defrost component failure has occurred. Fix what you find.

GE Profile stopped making ice. 2 yrs old

clean the coil behind the fridge or under the fridge (where ever they are) and make sure both fans are running, the one in the freezer and the one underneath freezer needs to be 0 degree F to start ice maker

FRIG DOEN'T GET COLDER THAN 49, WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM,FREEZER WORKS GREAT (GE PROFILE) ABOUT 2 YEARS OLD-

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp control. Make sure the fan is running when the compressor runs. Make sure the vent(damper) opens and closes as you adjust the fridge temp control.

Freezer and Refrigerator won't get cold.

Slide unit out from wall and lower temp setting and feel if compressor is running. If it is the Freon has escaped. Best bet call a repair company.
