Zen v plus screen is black

Is it worth replacing the screen, I mean how much it is? I may as well buy a new one right?

I had a cracked screen with a Zen Vision M. Other than the screen, the player worked fine. My plans were to get the screen fixed as I thought that would be the best solution.

When I contacted Creative about a repair, they told me it was out of warranty. They wanted me to send it to them so they could assess the damages. I was told it would cost between $50-$100 depending on the problem, but would likely be the latter based on my description.

The choice is really up to you, but I bought a new mp3 player. A lot of new technology has came out since I bought this player 3 years ago, not to mention mp3 players are pretty affordable right now compared to when I last shopped.

I have a Zen V plus , the screen has become really dark I can barley read it . what should I do?

Bad news. The Zen V Plus is known for screen problems - early warning signs include screen discoloration, lines on the screen or dimming. Eventually, the screen will go black.

Possible reasons include poorly-mounted screens, short life of OLED displays, and susceptibility of screens to damage from moisture.

Best bet for a replacement screen is buying a scrapped Zen V Plus on eBay. Here's a great guide to taking apart your Zen.

The screen on my zen v plus is broken and completely black so i've been using it as a shuffle and now i can't get back on the menu. is there any way to fix it ?

I'm not sure there is without replacing the screen, and that said I've never seen any spare screens around. I'm sure someone somewhere can probably get on though I'm not sure it would be worth the cost.

ah, i have the same thing. it's damage to the screen, as far as i know. i just ignore it, except it's a pain for videos and pics. you can look around for a replacement screen if it's really bothering you, but you'll probably want to go find a repair shop to do it.

To fix the screen on an MP3 player like this would easily cost more than it is worth. Hate to tell you, but you're better off finding a new one.

Dark screen on zen v plus

Was the device dropped or damanged? The most common problem is a cracked screen. The crack is on the back so you can't see it. The screen will need to be replaced.

I guess it broke.
Try re-installing the firmware, it's worth a try.
If this doesn't work, it means the screen is dead..

you can get it fixed for free if it's still under warranty.

Do you mean on your Zen's LCD Screen?.. It's a break in the LCD Screen.. It's fixed by replacing the LCD itself. Take it to the nearest Maintenance Shop or Zen Center to get a new LCD Screen
