My lenovo 3000 laptop does not strart correctly. when it is switched on after a few seconds it switches off. On the second restart i get messege saying windows did not shut down correctly and gives options for starting. I choose "start windows normally" and then the machine starts ok. This happens every time I start the machine. Any ideas?

Hi thanks for using fixya!
I suggest if you can try to make a windows update for your system. Then try to make a disk defragment. And try to conduct a full scan of your anti-virus. Then observe your system, if all same problem, I suggest that you format your system.
If you need further assistance, let me know. regards!

When the laptop has been off for a while you start it up and it immeadiatly stops, so you restart again, it stops almost straight away again (within a second) then it goes into a 'startup to last known good startup' or 'start windows normally' and it goes to a sytem repair. It does restart into windows but this takes over 5 minutes in total.
I did have this problem before now and I searched on Forums and fixed it by typing in a load of text type commands into something in a command line but I cannot find this again and I have no idea where I should type it as it was over 6 months ago?! can anyone help
Same problem!
I have exactly the same problem. I've un-installed everything, re-formatted the drive, and run de-fragging regularly.
I'd love to know what commands were run in the command prompt to sort the issue for the above user.
