Really common problem, but it's just a security feature. Unplug the Wii completely, wait 5 minutes, and it should work again. Has to go through something called a Power Cycle. I live in Florida, so it's happened to me twice...lots of lightning here.

SOURCE: after power failure wii system will not power up
their are fuses inside the consul one of them my have blown.You need a special screw driver you can get the fuses and screw driver on ebay.Try utube for a video on how to do this.
