Try to take apart the player and disconnect the battery for a few minutes, then reconnect, reassemble and try charging it over the USB cable. It appears that some people have had some success after full disconnection of the battery from player.Alternatively, try eBay for a new battery - there are plenty there.
A search of eBay, a place i look to check availability gives a number available. Search "Samsung YP-Z5 battery"
If you are able to open up the case You could cut off the existing battery leads close to the battery and join the two wires. Soldering is preferred if you have an insulated tip soldering iron. Otherwise twisting the wires together is probably good enough. Tape the joins to strengthen and insulate them.
Here is the user manual for your player if you need it;
Page 18 states that you can only sync with wmp 10, there is no alternative software that will do the job.
