Can't acquire image from scanner says: The application could not inquire about the palette of the image from the Twain driver. Image acquiring aborted.
I had this problem too - then downloaded new drivers and software here:

You need to re-install the drivers, then use the MP Toolbox software, and play with the "scan mode"
