Is the fridge thermostat suspect.... it would appear power supply and motherboard are fine... are there 2 separate compressors... if so... it may be that is the problem on the fridge side.... in which case - can you confirm if the air circulating fan is operational.

Cleaned the condenser coils which were dusty but not severely so. Checked the evaporator coils which were NOT iced. Reset the fridge to coldest setting and freezer to #5 (mid range of temperature) and waited a full 36 hours. Fridge temp is 40 F and freezer is about 0F. Not sure what is different except coldest setting on fridge. Warm weather is here but not warm enough to require AC. Temps in late afternoon in house about 77-80F. Any thoughts are appreciated because I suspect this problem is not completely resolved.
Work on the fridge problem first and the freezer may be fixed by that.
1/Thermostats lose sensitivity over time. The thermostat or sensor may be defective.
or
2/ You have lost some of your refrigerant and it is undercharged. It does evaporate very slowly but a pinhole would lose it in minutes.
Do not continue to run it or your compressor may overheat and fail. The sides of the fridge are probably quite warm from this happening already.
take back plate off inside freezer and see if there is ice build up on the pipework. if so, this prevents airflow and the fridge is affected first. melt off ice with a hairdryer and restart. if fault reoccurs, you have a fault with the defrost system
