The above message appears anytime I try to change the channel. I have noticed that the front A/V jacks are loose and wondered if there was a way to disable them so that the T.V. will work properly again. Thanks for your time.

If you don't have a Progressive Scan TV or you don't have the DVD player connected to the correct Input Jacks, and you activate Progressive Scan in the DVD player you won't see a picture! Don't panic-try the following:
First, press the PREV/VIDEO button on the front of the DVD player (it will go to the next video output option, which is an interlace output so a picture should appear on the TV screen). If that doesn't work, press and hold PREV/VIDEO button on the front of the DVD player for 3 seconds. Now, press the PREV/VIDEO button again (it will go to the next video output option, which is an interlace output so a picture should appear on the TV screen). If you still don't see a picture on your TV screen, make sure the yellow cable (provided) that is attached to white and red cable (called audio/video cables) is connected to the DVD player's PREV/VIDEO jack and the TV's Video Input jack. Change your TV channel to your TV's Video Input
channel that activates the TV's VIdeo Input jack where you have connected the yellow cable (page 9 of your manual has more information). This PREV/VIDEO jack on the DVD player always outputs interlace video, so you should see a picture on the TV screen.
As a last resort, you can reset the DVD player to the factory default settings:
Press and hold the STOP button on the remote control and the NEXT button on the front of the player at the same time - wait at least 5 seconds before you release both buttons
Plug the power transformer into the bottom jack on the back of the right-channel speaker. This is the speaker with the on/off knob on the front.
Plug the audio cable attached to the left-channel speaker into the audio jack on the back of the right-channel speaker. The jack is immediately above the jack for the power cord.
Plug the audio jack attached to the back of the right-channel speaker into the headphone jack on a laptop computer (usually located along the left edge), or to the audio output jack on the back of a desktop PC.
Plug the speaker transformer into a surge protector and the surge protector into a wall outlet.
Turn the on-off and volume control knob clockwise on the front of the right-channel Inspiron speaker to activate the stereo speakers and adjust the volume.
Look for any loose contacts in RC jacks/sockets/Cable. Check your power outlet for any loose contacts. Try changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.
I have exactly the same problem, same error message. I first noticed the problem yesterday (September 11). Error message appears when trying to watch live TV through iPlayer. BBC News Channel works OK from BBC News website. Live sports broadcasts work OK through BBC Sport website. I uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player but it made no difference.
Same thing... they probably broke both jacks. Sometimes the guts of the jack is broken and it doesn't appear to be broken but is broken internally. You may find broken solder on the pins to these jacks as well.
Note that the two input jacks have a different gain.
