Well this really isn't much of a problem, as the fan turning on shows that it is doing its job. It turns on due to processor having to run faster, naturally raising its temperature, so the fan keeps the processors temperature within operable limits.
the noise appears to be coming from the fan. It seems to speed up and stays that way until I stop download.

are you sure its not the hardrive you hear? you may not have enough RAM so the harddrive use a portion of it for "virtual ram" or "swap file"
