Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Hi my miele 828 was sitting in storage for about a year. Now when i use it, i do not know how to get the quick wash cycle going. When i press on the quick wash button, it doesn't light up and so if there is no light, then if i start the machine, it goes for like an hour. Can someone help me, what is it i'm not doing right, or is there something gone wrong with it. thanks

Miele Novotronic W526 washing machine. Can I reduce the temperature on my 'Quick Wash' cycle? It's set at 40 and I would like 30.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Computers category.

Wash temperatures are not able to be changed, they are dictated by the thermistor sensor and the setting of the EPROM in the control board, however, the 40' Wash temperature refers to the wash labels tags in clothes. About 20 years ago when HE detergents came out, manufacturers reduced water temperatures by 10'C, so although it is a '40' Wash', you should find the temperature is lower. Check it with an infra-red thermometer.

MIELE W412 PREWASH INDICATOR FLASHING

If your PreWash is flashing then you have a pressure problem. You can dry using a washer machine cleaner or doing a hot cycle with white vinegar. If that doesn't help the electronic would have to be changed.

Washing machine will not drain.

Do you know for a fact that the water pump runs?? If it does not then the programming side/power supply is faulty. If it does run (and is new) then a systematic check for blockages or broken pipes should be made! Try lying the outlet pipe flat on the floor. This should cause the water to syphon out on its own, showing a clear water path.
Good luck

Miele G892 SC dishwasher not heating/cycle won't stop

Miele have cold inlet only. Either element is open circuit, or the relay that switches the element has failed. My money would be on the element first, then the relay. The machine will sit in that mode forever as it is waiting for the temperature of the water to reach a certain temp before telling the electronic unit to move to the next part of the wash. If you need assistance in how to test & how to get to these parts just let me know. But you will need an ohm meter to test the element. Regards
