This sounds like your dvd drive stopped working. try with different cds or dvds. If not there is a complicated way but if you are not familiar with computers don't do that. A service technician can easily solve it for you.
Does the player play Audio disks? if so then it could be a software issue. It sounds more like the CD laser has died on your unit. The CD/DVD unit has two lasers, one for the CD side of things and another for the DVD. If still under warranty get replacement. Hope this helps. don
