Check to see if it is on Auto Return. If so undo and it should type to the end of the page. Typically Electronic Typewriters functions are a code Key + the green symbol underneath the Character Key. Hope that Helps

How do I increase the margins on the typewriter

To set a margin beyond the left or right margin, move the carrier (or cursor) to that margin, press the Margin Release key, then proceed to move the carrier (or cursor) to the desired position. Then, press the Left or Right margin key to set the new margin. A beep will sound indicating the new margin has been set. When you set a new left or right margin, the previous margin is automatically cleared.

Alternatively, you can type beyond the right margin by pressing the Margin Release key and then continue typing when the carrier (or cursor) stops at the right margin. To type beyond the left margin, press the Margin Release key and then the Backspace key to move the carrier (or cursor) to the position where you want to start typing.

Remember to always use genuine Swintec ribbons and lift-off tapes for your Swintec 7040, which can be found at Swintec Typewriter Supplies .

Right margin will not release Can get to a certain point and it just locks up - Does this have anything to do with the Reloc button which I don't know how to use.

the RELOC button is for when you go back and make a correction, after you make the correction you hit the RELOC button and it will automatically go back to where you left off. if you are typing along and it stops typing and won't go any further, you are at the right margin. if you want to go past this point, you have to hit the MAR REL button. then hit the space bar or keep typing. if you want to move the margin, move the carrier to where you want the margin and hit R MAR, and that will set the margin at that point. works the same way for the left margin.

Our office has an ES 95 - for some reason we can not get the right margin to release?

Space it to the right margin. Press "margin release" key once. Space further to the right to where you want the new margin set. Then press the "margin right" key once. This should take care of your problem.

I have a swintec 2600 i cannot get it to clear out the tabs and i need to type beyound were the tab is

You must mean the margins. To move the right margin further to the right. Move the carriage to the right margin then depress the mar release key then space over further to the right to a new position and depress the right margin key. You should here a beep. If you just want to type further to the right of the margin, when it stops typing, simply depress the mar release key and continue typing.

Margin Release

Try holding down on the MR (margin release) key and turn on. Machine will print a few lines with all the letters. Turn off and then on and try. Also make sure someone has not switched the key tops for left marging and right margin, I have seen this "joke" played on people. Can you set either margins?
