Olympus C-770 camera not turning on

Press cursor-right (marked with a lightning bolt) then select "Flash off."

Write protect

Either the software in both cameras need be updated. EIther by online software update program or the manufacture will do it for $50 a camera.
Otherwise, some SD cards to have conflicts with some camer'a software for some reason. Sometimes using the wrong sd card in a camera will result in memory flash and causing the camera to be in need of software update. Once updated you should be good and should work with all sd cards from now on.

Go to the support section of the Olympus web site to download a copy to your computer.

The only solution noted was to see Olypus customer support (not really a solution at all)

i am not sure if you can do this. I just press the middle ok button to get rid of the information.

Try this. After you turn the camera on go into the menu (hit the round ok button). Go into the Mode Menu. Hit the down arrow til you get to the Set menu. Hit the right arrow. All Reset should be highlighted. Hit the right arrow button again and highlight OFF and hit OK. Be sure all of the camera settings are like you want them before you do this.

The Olympus CR-V3 lithium batteries will provide approximately 500 shots with typical usage (half of the images shot with flash/half without flash and minimal use of the LCD monitor). These batteries are not rechargeable.

The Olympus Ni-MH batteries will provide approximately 200 shots with typical usage (half of the images shot with flash/half without flash and minimal use of the LCD monitor). These batteries are also rechargeable.
