I have a canon powershot elf sd110. Has worked fine for several years all of a sudden the digital went black. I bought a new battery the same thing. I also have an older canon powershot A300 hardly used. The same thing happened. I bought new batteries tested the voltage with a volt meter, they're all up. Why the black screen? Do they have a timer on them to die out after so long? Rio [email protected]
For both of your cameras, this sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:
