WFW9600TA01 Duet Whirlpool washer has a bad CCU, but I cant get the old one off? The front control needs to cone off and I don't see a way to remove it... Please Help

you'll need to call someone in on this one,boards are very expensive and like it says it names both the ccu and mcu boards or the motor,if you call say whirlpool they might give you the part but you pay for labor and they will have the boards on the truck,the guy will replace one board at a time to see what one is bad,not like the older machines that you can check the parts with a meter.good luck

The F11 code is a loss of communication between the CCU circuit board and the MCU circuit board. (CCU Central Control Unit, MCU Motor Control Unit) The most probable cause is bad solder joints on the CCU circuit board (also known as cold solder joints). This condition is also noted for causing a FdL code (door lock) The cure is to remove the CCU (inside machine, top, back, plastic case) remove the plastic case then the circuit board, it's easier that way. Then touch-up the large solder joints holding the spade connectors and the relays (5 of them). If you're not up on soldering techniques, you could take the CCU and this response to a good appliance repair shop and they should be able to help you out. Good luck.

Error F31 in your whirlpool duet washer is displayed due to MCU (Motor Control Unit) failure. It is displayed if the heat sink gets too hot and then the MCU stops motor, then MCU sends the signal to CCU (Central control unit). Please check the wire connections between the CCU and MCU, if thats fine then check the motor operation. Hope you understand...replacing the part# that has gone bad is recommended repair. Remove the bottom front panel 2-3 screws at the very bottom. Inside there should be a tech sheet that will explain error codes and how to trouble shoot them on your specific machine. F11 is a serial communication error between the central control unit and the motor control unit.
Unplug the machine and open the panels.
Unplug and re-plug all wire connectors from the ccu to the mcu.
Inspect all wires and harnesses for a bad wire.
Could be bad components; ccu or mcu or motor

It will try to lock it 6 times before displaying the error.
