NO device decteted

I went to admin tools in the control panel and it said no device dected. i have a 160 gb anyone know what i can do to fix it?

    mine [Lacie Porsche 60 Gb usb] stopped working after a fall from table. Now it beeps (two different tones of beep alternating) and the computer says "no readable disk" when connected. Any help or guide¿? THANKS!

    Straight out of the box I can't reformat my lacie porsche hard drive 120gb for a mac. That is what I bought it for. Disk Utility does not recognize the drive. What to do to reformat it?
    It beeps non-stop when I connect it. It hasn't fallen, it is brand new.

Lacie Porsche drives in my experience or infamous for not having the most durable bridge boards. The bridge board is a chip that has a chipset on it which take the SATA or PATA connection and send it to the USB and or Firewire ports on the enclosure. If the drive is powered up, you should get a small red or orange light on the front. When connected to either mac or pc ( porsches are MS_DOS formatted out the box ), if it does not mount or does not appear in DISK UTILTY, then it is a high probability that the enclosure/bridge board has failed and the drive ( if not making grinding, buzzing, clicking or beeping sounds) will have to be extracted and placed into a more stable enclosure. click start control panel administrative tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes


automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now start


you might tick one box then return after its finished the first repair then return and tick the second box you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage this drive

right click to reinstall drivers


if you can see your usb drive but its not working

ports (com&lpt) right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem


check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems to a computer and its parts

Tv has no picture but sound is ok

First of all, change the input device to something you know works for sure. Look for any jammed buttons on remote or on control panel. (This can happen, if you inadvertently sit on the remote hidden under a magazine or newspaper) Check the picture settings to ensure that these are ok. If problem persists, it might need attention by a qualified service technician.

Get webcam to work with hpdv6000 laptop

if your webcam has a usb connection plug it in

Please insert data traveler and run as privilaged user

You have to be the computers administrator to change any values on any hard drive on your computer

click start control panel user accounts on the users tab click the name of the computer administrator you must have full control


If you are running a Windows XP OS then you might be able to:
click start right click on my computer select open
Right click the icon of your Flash Drive (It should be F:/ or something)
Click Properties in the menu that comes up
Click the Sharing tab
Click permissions
And finally, click Allow next to Full Control.

I coonect it to my visat windows laptop or xp windows desktop, getteing statement to install a software or driver. i dont know how to fix this... please tell me the way. my portable drive is simple tech...

External was low-level format now cant read/ write to it

You now need to reformat the drive to FAT32 or NTFS system.
Click start/control panel/admin tools/computer management/.

On R?H side select disc management. All drives will be displayed and you can format the drive by right click and select format.

I have a smartdisk firelite hmo80hc samsung- and i can't map it to a drive. I can see it in the device manager but cannot access my files

Try control panel / admin tools / comp management / in left pane select disk management / .......now if you can see the drive there (right click it) you should be able to map it using change drive letter and paths... good luck hope this works
