Hello James, You might want to try changing the washer on the end of the stem. Try using a beveled washer instead of a flat washer. You might not have to turn the knob so hard to turn it off. Good luck hope this helps.

SOURCE: Pressure problem with Kohler shower faucet??

Hi pglaw,

My best guess is the supply valve for the hot side isn't open all the way. This valve is right on the valve and is accessed by taking off the front cover plate. This would still allow the pressure balancing valve to let water through but then you would have a small flow on the hot side.

If this isn't it then then cartridge is bad.

Please rate this response and good Luck,, phil

SOURCE: No hot water pressure on kohler bath / shower faucet

Try draining the system and apply air pressure (min 30psi) to each faucet. Open other hot water faucets to allow pressure to vent. Next try draining and cleaning the hot water tank.

Hi, my shower faucet /head drips regularly how to repair the leak?

You need to order seals and replace them. Typically, dirt in the water system damages the rubber (neoprene, plastic) soft parts. Sometimes the damage wrecks metal parts, but this is less common.

On new Moen shower faucet, when I turn on faucet, water drips from shower also.

The faucet was installed upside down.
The shower riser pipe in the wall is to short( the distance between the faucet and shower head).
One of the biggest problems is if your shower faucet was installed with Pex pipe to the tub spout. Pex pipe will restrict the flow and force the water back up and out of the shower head.
The tub spout must be piped with at least 1/2 brass pipe nipples and fittings, or 5/8 OD. copper pipe and fittings.
Hope this helps, if you further questions please let us know.

Leaking shower head

Not unless you had a backward plumber , If the diverter at the faucet is open for tub, then no water will go up the shower, The shower may hold enough water up there to make it look like a drip, Even if the valve was leaking all the time, it would not go up, it would come out the faucet. It only works with pressure. Unless the valve was plumbed wrong,,, Hope this helps.

Replaced shower valve. still drips from tub spout

The cartridge has 2 or 3 o-ring type seals around it that feed the water through, it picks up both hot and cold and mixes them. Some cartridges are replaced as one, some you have to replace the seals, just take the faucet info to the hardware store and match it up. I think the diverter is for the shower. It sends the water up instead of out.

First determind what side is dripping(hot/cold) then turn off water to entire house unless you have separate shutoff for shower behind wall. take a screw driver remove handle then use channel lock pliers to remove stem on the bottom side of the stem there will be a screw with a rubber washer on it you must remove the screw and replace the washer them re assemble Oh go to home depot and buy a the assorted pack of washer for faucets and stems find one that fits the pack cost about 4.99 best to change both rubber seal washer on hot and cold sinc e you have the water off
