Replace that STR. Before replacing, check all the related component/s at the SMPS section [HOT] side. any one damaged component will make the replaced STR to fail. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

Lg crt tv str 6654 used smps output more than normal str, coupler changed but no result

Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

What could be a cause of my sony trinitron 21''crt tv it's problem is fuse burned and STR is shorted when i change it it burned and shorted again ?

If STR is found damaged, you should check all the assciated components with it; like resistors, zener diodes etc: before replacing a new STR. All such components should be checked individually [out from the circuit].

Sony crtv. Does not come on.Even power led is off. Sometimes it comes on and works well. But put it off and restart it will not come on. Repeatedly pushing the on switch on and off works some times.

Your TV need a through check up. From its power On-Off switch to its main SMPS section circuit are suspected. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

STR 6707 give output voltage more than 110 voltage of TV Onida model BLACK

Check it with load. If it shows more than 112VDC, the IC is faulty. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Check all the related components at the SMPS section circuit, before replacing a new IC.

Model Sony KV-G21q2S Problem-STR 6707 has been changed. After an hour the went down. The fuse and STR 6707 are working. But no picture no sound. When plug in it gives "boo" sound for few...

This is the SMPS Power suply drive and the IC fails ONLY if there is fault in the circuit. You need to check on the SMPS section
check this link below for tips:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r5826301-working_switch_mode_power_supplies

Next you need to check if the LINE output transformer has failed. If so this will have a higher current drain and so switch off the SMPS unit. check for the EHT drivers, capacitors in the HT circuit.

My Sony STR-DE185 is displaying "PROTECT". The manual says it is from a short circuit. Are there any known common problems with this unit related to short circuiting? Mike

If the speaker wires shorted together, it will trigger the protection circuit. If the output transistors/IC shorted out in the power amplifier section, it will also go into protection mode also.
Try disconnecting all the speaker wires to see if it will come on normal.
to have it fixed by the shop may not be worth it.

When power on it only shows protector and it doesn't work

The output transistors are probably defective. These are MN and MP transistors available from Sony and run about $12 each. There may be other components in the output stage that need to be replaced as well. Expect about $25-$40 in parts plus the local labor rate.
