Please press menu then start mono (b/w) then 4x arrow-up-button. What error code does the machine display? If you have something starting with 4 (except 46: means replace waistinktank) your printhead is crashed and cant be fixed. If there is another code than the above please write here again!

UNABLE TO INIT. 4F ERROR

This error is associated with the self test the printer does on the print head during power-up of the printer.

Sadly, it is indicative of either a faulty print head or a faulty main control board, neither of which are easy or inexpensive to replace.

Unless you can get hold of another machine with a different fault and swap over the print head and/or board (you'll need very good skills and tools to do this) then I'm afraid the machine is beyond economic repair*.

* Brother will repair your machine but the cost will likley be more than a new one.

Unable to init. 4f in Brother MFC j615w

Sorry to say this error refers to a print head failure. It is not a user changeable part. It will need repairing by a Brother service agent and it will probably cost more than the printer is worth.

Unable to Init - Machine error 4f

ok please try this

Access the internal maintenance mode by pressing the Menu/Set button, then press * 2 8 6 4 within 2 seconds. This should put you in the maintenance mode menu. Enter 80, then scroll down with the arrow down (round) key. You'll find an entry listed as purge count. If number is over 6000, enter 2 7 8 3.

This will reset the purge count value. Then the printer will restart, hopefully without the annoying cannot clean message.

All I ask is please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.
