Thanks, sonic boom electronics, for the idea to shove the garden hose up there. Our hose is nice and narrow and it worked perfectly! I pushed it through one end and started feeling resistance, and kept on shoving and when the hose reached the other end, it was pushing out the plastic bag. Whew!

Loss of suction after vacuuming up and removing a piece of paper

Hi. The hollow noise and lack of suction suggests there is still air flow restriction. Start from the furthest point and work back towards the motor. Pull the hose off at the machine. Has high suction returned to normal? If not, open the canister and expose the filter bag. Remove the filter bag and check for a blockage or is the bag full? If the bag is not full and there is no blockage inside the inlet tube. Leave the hose and the filter bag removed, close up the canister vacuum and turn it on. Has high suction returned to normal? If not, there is probably a secondary filter or HEPA filter that needs to be replaced. I hope this helps. Please let me know what you found. Good Luck.

There is a clog in the bottom hose how can i get to it? I have the DC28

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

If the internal hose in your DC28 is blocked, you can remove the hose as shown in the video below. The hose has a push-fit design at each end, and should disconnect when you grip the plastic cuffs and pull with a firm, constant force. Once the hose is removed it should be easy to remove the blockage using the eraser end of a pencil or something similar. Please take care not to damage the hose as you do so.

You might also find our online Support guide useful in clearing the blockage: http://content.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1231&product=DC28-ANIMAL

I hope this helps. If you'd like any further guidance from our experts, please email us at [email protected], and we'll be in touch as soon as possible.

Best wishes,

Jack

Dyson Animal-suction loss

Had the same problem twice and washed the filter to no avail. Called Dyson to troubleshoot, and in one minute they had me removing the purple plastic noodle shaped piece towards the bottom on the side (the next time it was the silver noodle on the opposite side). Inside was a bent pen and tons of debris wrapped around it that slowed the suction. Poked the debris out, and it worked perfectly.

How do you remove the plastic end fitted to the flexible hose

Not necessarily. Some Dyson models have an all inclusive flexi hose which attaches to the handle spine. Check EBay for replacement flexi hoses - UK has many sellers - or handles which have the metal pole and the flexi tube attached.
Alternatively take off the flexi hose from the bottom rear of the Dyson - it can come out via a press in lock release but it may take some time to do this. Once that is done the flexi hose should come down freely from the metal tube. If it doesnt then you may need to consider both replacements.
Dont forget to rate, thanks.
