Perfect Focus When I try to use the perfect focus function it does not work. When I select perfect function, it will begin the process, but, it will only get up to 37%

is both hazzards on the drivers side dont work cuz if only one dosnt work it could be just a loose bulb or ground

You have a bad sensor, a bad digital convergence board, or the new board is not working correctly. I would start by swaping out the convergence board or exchange it for another one. Good Luck

The problem you have is the 2 STK - 392 convergence integrated circuits need replacing the cost in the UK is about £150.

convergence must be adj then saved then magic focus
if cannot be adj chips need to be replaced.

Did you try the manual lense focus in the back? There is a wing nut on it and it's pretty easy to change. You just need someone to look at the TV and tell you when it looks good. Additionally for the Blue tube, it's on the far left. You take off the bottom panel in the back to get to this area. Good Luck.

On the remote you have a door. Open it and you'll find the button focus on the right side the second from up to down. If not is in the menu, go in setup, convergence, auto, ok.

perfect focus functions are based on service mode setup...or factory settings. if the alignment of these setting are loss then the unit wont perfect focus. does the unit have a complete loss of convergence. a complete loss of convergence indicate possible failure of convergence amps.

Check any/ all pico fuses in power supply. PVAT! Look for evidence of CRT coolant leak. Since Perfect Focus is a function of convergence,you might consider replacing convergence IC's,then perform alignment in servicer mode,then finish w/Perfect Focus.

enter your service mode by pressing mute-1-8-3- a cross hatch pattern should apear,when it does and it looks alright press and hold the enter key the ,it will say data write then press the focus key the set will align your sensors and retuen to the cross hatch pattern ,tune off set and turn back on and try the magic focus ,should work.
