Take the radios back to a very basic setting with all special features turned off. If the radios have a Qt filter check to see it is turned off, and set your Code to zero (off) on both units. Also, check to see your battery is good in both units. Trade the battery with a known good radio to see if the problem moves to the other radio, is a simple test.

Here is a link to the TA280 manual, which is similar to the TA200,

Funny thing, I haven't found the TA200 manual in English. Here it is in Czech: If you do a google search, you can find the page and have it translated. I'll keep looking, and if I find it in English, I'll repost.

Doesn't transmit

Check your battery. Transmitting takes more energy than receiving. Also, check your frequency and code settings. The radio you are using this one with might have a different code setting than yours.

I can transmit to one talkabout but the other person can't transmit to me

Check your programming, it sounds like your Code is not set the same between the two radios. Here is a link to the user guide Choose your model from the page or the pulldown.

I have a pair of talkabouts fv700's they will receive but I cannot transmit

Check the programming of your frequency, interference eliminator code and Qt filter (if any). Here is a link to the user guide:

For basic operation turn off any special features, and set the code to zero (off) and the Qt filter (if any) to zero (off). This would allow you to test the radios in a simple mode, with just the frequency number needing to match between the two radios.

Best regards.

Motorola T5420 won't transmit to each other.

Since you say the frequency is set the same, you possibly have the code set differently. Check your interference eliminator code. It must be set the same on all radios. For basic operation turn the code off (zero).

Can transmit to a FV700 moto, but FV700 cannot hear me. Same Ch 6 and code 1

Not certain what model radio you are using to transmit, it is possible your radio has a Qt filter. If so, set it to zero. If this does not solve the problem, try setting your Code to zero also.

Best regards.

I have two motorola Talkabout T5720. Identical models, identical s/n, but they don't work as a pair. When set to the same channel and same code...or even when theres no code encryption selected, they wont...

One further thing to check would be the Qt filter.

If the frequency, code and Qt filter are all set alike, and the radios still do not function together, you likely have a defective radio. The only way to determine if one is bad is to introduce a 3rd radio into the group, and the bad radio will be apparent right away.

Best regards.

Motorola talkabout sx700

Check your "code" setting. You may be on the same channel, but different codes. The code is the smaller number. Check your owners manual if you have one for resetting the radio to the factory default settings. This will clear any programming issues.
