Slipping belt onto motor shaft pulley

Trying to put belt on a Eureka "Boss." Much like a toilet paper dispenser, the motor shaft pully sits in a plastic channel, turning in place on two pegs. I can't squeeze the belt past these pegs. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Hella

On most vacuums, you:
put the belt on the motor,

slip the beater bar thru the belt,

put the end opposite the belt into the frame,

stretch the belt and put the belt end of the beater bar into the frame.

Hope that helps!

I have a Eureka 'The Boss Smart Vac'. The beater

Yes, you need to replace the belt. You should actually change this belt every year. Here is a link to the belt you need and the manual which has instructions:

Eureka boss power plus

I had this same problem. The brush roll wouldn't spin, smoke came out, and it smelled like burning rubber. I changed the belt thinking that would fix the problem but it didn't, so I took the belt back off and checked the motor shaft in the back and found a whole bunch of hair wrapped around the shaft. Once I cut out the hair with some scissors and replaced the belt, everything worked like normal. I hope this helps.

Eureka 4870 roller only spins in upright

if the belt has been slipping it may have pollished the moteror brush shaft and it just slips. take a small piece of sand paper or enery cloth and ruffen up the shaft to give it some grip.
if the metal shaft of the motor has been heated up due to slippage it will take some doing to ruffun it as the shaft will be hardend due to heat

Eureka the boss upright bagless vacuum. How do I open it to get to the belt area? The brush seems stuck. It won’t move.
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Knowing the brand name and model number for the vacuum but I can give you a generic way of changing the belt. You 1st need to remove the bottom plate by screws, levers or clips, then you can get @ the belt, if not then you should remove the top cover and then you can get @ the belt. 1st remove the belt from the brushroll and install the new belt on the pulley side of the brushroll and then use a belt puller or a screwdriver with a bend on the end and then stretch the belt onto the motor pulley and then track the belt in a straight line so that is running in a straight line. Replace the bottom plate and the belt change should be done. Please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Problem getting belt around motor shaft... Eureka The BOSS

make sure the vacuum is in the upright (locked position) - when you lower the handle, this puts tention on the belt. If it is in the upright and locked position, there is plenty of clearance (unless you have the wrong belt.
