We have a Canon MF5770 (G3). The alarm light flashes with lcd msg: toner low. Toner is not low. Can we get rid of flashing alarm light somehow?
How do you know toner is not low? You can't get rid of the message. The toner sensor is within the printer, and if it says 'toner is low', then it either "is" or the sensor is defective.
I found this in an online forum:
"Chip on the cartridge MUST be replaced with new one."
Sounds like the MF5700 series operating system won't recognize a refilled cartridge that does not contain a new microchip.
Anyone know if this is true - and if so, any workarounds?

How do I know that the toner is not low? Because I just placed a new cartridge into the printer. And this message has been showing up now for several toner cartridges. You "sensor is defective" might be more accurate.
