You say you cannot scan... have you tried using the scan software and scanning to a file? If this works but when you try to print or copy, the printer goes through the motions of printing and only a blank page feeds out then I think you are out of luck. I have worked on a large number of this model with this same problem and I have found that once ink dries inside the printhead (especially black as this is a pigment ink) then the only solution is to replace the printhead. This is an expert job and the cost of parts alone will be more than the cost of a new printer. If you have tried the purge sequence above a few times, check to see if the cartridges are still full. If they are then no ink has gone through the printhead and it will confirm the death of the printhead.
I think the heads r part of printer and not cartridge
if so they need to be removed and cleaned or replaced.
Testimonial: "How do you remove and clean them and are they replaceable and if so where do I get them. Been to the Brother live chat and they recommend cleaning the heads with power cycle cleaning yet again. Don't see how that can help. You can hear the ink squirting when you run the clean cycle and all ink well are showing full."

you need to do a hard reset on the printer as well it might clear up the problem and recognize the ink at its proper levels.
refer to your user manual or let us know and we will find the procedure to do so.
i have a similar model and know how picky they can be.

If the regular cleaning does not work, you can try the power purge. Perform it by doing the following:
If it doesn't work, you'd probably need chemicals to clean the ink tubes. But, this power purge should work.
