It sounds like the mouse has failed (a hardware problem). It's easy to troubleshoot by testing with another mouse ... and ideally an identical one. If the next one also does not work properly suggest to reinstall the driver for the mouse.

Mouse clicker buttons not working

In Control Panel there is a mouse section, you may have the clicking disabled. if you don't and it still isn't functioning then you have a bad touchpad and it will need to be replaced.

You can also test using a USB mouse to find out if you have clicking disabled.

More then likely the button has worn out.The first thing I would try to check to see if its the button or not ,just plug a mouse in to the laptop and see if that works with left click if it does it just may need a new button put in.If your handy you may even be able to do it yourself. If you have any other questions just let me know.

1. In order to fix this, you go to control panel > mouse
the last tab is called "Device Settings" click it and make sure you have "static tray icon in taskbar" selected.
(You can always remove this later.) Apply the changes and click the red coloured icon in your task bar. An option will be available called "Tap to click." Clicking it will enable you to tap with your mouse pad instead of the keys! Hope this helps you out, I know it helped my friend.

To move the mouse pointer by using MouseKeys
If you have not already done so, turn on MouseKeys.
To turn on MouseKeys, open Accessibility Options, click the Mouse tab, and then select the Use MouseKeys check box. Use the buttons on the numeric keypad to move the mouse pointer. If MouseKeys doesn't function, press NUM LOCK, and then try MouseKeys again.
To move the pointer horizontally or vertically, press the arrow keys on your numeric keypad.
To move the pointer diagonally, press HOME, END, PAGE UP, or PAGE DOWN on your numeric keypad.
Notes To open Accessibility Options, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Accessibility Options.
To specify whether NUM LOCK must be on or off for MouseKeys to function, on the Mouse tab, click Settings, and then for Use MouseKeys when NumLock is, click On or Off.

To temporarily increase or decrease the pointer speed, on the Mouse tab, click Settings, and then select the Hold down Ctrl to speed up and Shift to slow down check box.

Both of my clickers on my laptop mouse will not work.

If both the mouse buttons on the touchpad do not work, then you will need to replace the palmrest assembly.

My right click menu pop's up when ever i try to click on my laptop anywhere, i have a DELL inspiron 1520.

is your pointer set to be opposite... go into control panel and mouse options, and see if you accidentally switched your mouse clicker buttons.... try clicking with the right click, does it still open your 'right-click' menu? does it work normal on an external mouse?

maybe its just a setting issue,... if not then prolly need a new mouse pad...

Context menu continually pops up - mostly when left mouse button is clicked sometimes when keyboard is used. Context menu key doesn't work.

I think the mouse setting is set to left handed and the right clicker is the main clicker and the left is the context menu key. Knowing this, you should follow these steps.
1. Go to "Control Panel"
2. Click "Printers and Other Hardware"
3. Click "Mouse"
4. Go to the "Buttons" tab and switch the setting to right handed

Left clicker doesn't work on my hp optical mouse

Sorry to say it's most likely a failed switch on the mouse. You will have to replace it. Try a hard-wired mouse first if you can to confirm.

When I'm typing, the cursor moves

To resolve this issue please follow the steps below:-
1) Locate the picture icon called "Synaptics Touchpad" or "Pointing Device" that is located next to the digital time (usually in the bottom right hand side of the screen).
2) Click on the icon with the right-hand mouse clicker and select the option: MOUSE PROPERTIES in the small sub-menu that pops up.
3) You should now see a new window dominating the screen with several options and tabs along the top. Select the "Tapping" tab listed there with the left-hand mouse clicker.
4) When Tapping Selected the menu window will change presenting some new options. There should be an option near the bottom of the menu called "Tap off when typing" Click the box next to this menu option, success will bring up a little tick in the box clicked on.
5) To the right of the "Tap off when typing" option there should be a new sliding controller available with two options on either end (Short ---- Long) and a triangular shaped slider button in the middle of the two. The triangular shaped button needs to be moved to approximately three-quarters to the right (towards "long").
6) Once above step has been completed left click select the "Apply" button on the bottom right hand side of the menu, and then click "Ok" to confirm changes.

Hope this solves your problem :0)
