The Track/chain that the scanner bar follows might have some debris/dirt whatever on it stoping it from moving further. Alternatively the motor might have a problem. you can take the cover off and blow that area with a con o' air. Make sure not to get dirt or prints on the scanner or the bottom of the glass
It sounds like you have a faulty Instrument panel Cluster (IPC) Your local dealer will have to confirm this as independant shops don't have the scanner capabilities for this diagnostic procedure.

hello my name is kathy and i just had the same problem with mine.I know if you don"t use it very often and shut it off a lot you will loose the program. I first stoped turning it off at all and would just turn the sound all the way down. I went to each one and unlocked them, I had lost over half and the other was locked. I put them back in unlocked the ones the were locked, stoped turning it off 2 years ago and have not had a problem since. I hope you will let me know if this helped. [email protected]
