I HAVE 2 KICKER DVC 4OHM ,400 RMS EACH SUB, I NEED A AMP TO RUN THIS SUB,BUT I DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA HOW TO GO ABOUT THE AMP THAT I NEED,CAN YOU GUY'S PLEASE TELL ME WHAT AMP DO I NEED.
IF THIS IS ANY HELP 1 SUB IS 8''THAT WILL BE PUT ON THE REAR DECK IN MY CAR , AND THE SECOND SUB IS 10'',I HAVE A CUSTOM REAR KICK PANEL SEAL BOX I NEED THE TRUNK SPACE
I'LL THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOU HELP
You wont be able to run both subs off of a one-channel amp if they are two different subwoofers. You want they impedence load to be the same so i suggest that you go with two of the same subwoofers or two different amps. If you go with two of the same subs i'd suggest a Pioneer GM-5300T amplifier, or you could go with a Kenwood KAC-8104D Amplifier. either amp would sound about the same and it would hit pretty hard!
You need a stereo amp that can run 400amps continous, with an output of 4 ohms. These should not be too hard to find and they are getting smaller all of the time. Make a practice look on ebay. They give you pictures and you can check the dimentions first, so you know it can fit between your two deck lids.

Take two wires, equal length. Reach from positive of 1 coil and hook too positive of 2nd coil, now do the same with negative, neg to neg.. Then pos of sub to amp. And neg of sub too amp.
if you wire the 4 ohm sub voice coils in parallel you will have a 2 ohm load for the Image Dynamics sub, the JL sub only being single voice coil will of course be 3 ohm. You cannot connect them both to the amp you specified as when connected the total load will be less than 2ohms and the amp will either trip it's protection circuit or could damage the amp, My suggestion is to try each sub separately and decide on the one you like the most or obtain a matching pair for the 4ohm DVC.
If your sub woofers are DVC 4OHM:
Connecting three together in Parallel/Parallel would make your amplifier run a 0.67OHM load or if connected Series/Parallel then you would have a 2.67OHM load.
If your sub woofers are DVC 2OHM:
Connecting three together in Parallel/Parallel would make your amplifier run a 0.36OHM load or if connected Seies/Parallel then you would have a 1.67OHM load and Series/Series a 12OHM load.
So if your sub woofers are really DVC, it would be impossible that your amp would be playing 4OHM. The numbers just don't add up.
There are amplifiers out there that can deal with 0.50OHM loads but expect them to be on the pricey side, but fairly so, because mostly higher end brands tend to manufacture them and are usually pretty good.
Remove 1 of the sub woofers.
If i knew what the subs where 4 or 2 OHM DVC and what amplifier you are using i would tell you how to connect them for the best possible result.
hope this helps

best way is to just run the volfenhag with a set of wires for 2 channells(one set per coil) left and right @ 4 ohms per channell. The CVRs you can parallel the coils(2 ohms) and run a set from each sub to the amp in stereo left and right. This will give the kickers a little more juice than the 12 but should be fine.
It depends if your sub is 4ohm svc, or 2ohm svc. 4ohm would take 4 subs wired in parallel, 2ohm would take 2 subs wired in parallel. But for a amp that big, subs that'll handle it are definitely gonna be dvc. I'd recommend 2 Orion 4ohm dvc hcca's. They come in either 15in or 12in. the 15s are louder if you have the space for them. As far as wiring goes, wire the voice coils on the subs in parallel to 2ohm per sub, then wire the 2 subs in parallel to 1ohm. Goodluck and congrats on the equipment, Orion is about as good as you can go for subs and amps. just be ready to lay down some dynamat cuz this system'll bloww your vehicle apart! good luck...
If you have a DVC 4ohm speaker, and you are using both voice coils, the amp is seeing a 2ohm load.
If you bridge the amp, you CAN run both subs as long as the amp is Two Ohms Stable.
Wire each subs voice coils in parallel.(Positive to positve, neg to neg.) (2ohms) each.
Then wire the two subs in series.(Neg from amp to neg of sub one, pos of sub one to neg of sub two. then pos of sub two to pos of amp.
If it sounds too hard, leave it as you are already running the amp at two ohms.
To wire the L72's at 1ohm, simply connect both +'s and -"s on each sub together. Then connect to your amp terminals.
With 2ohm DVC's, you can have either a 1ohm load or a 4ohm load. The diagrams are here (I know it's the website of a Kicker competitor, but their "wiring wizard" is simply the best).
ok well to start are the subs 4ohm dvc or 2 ohm dvcs? heres some questions that will get you started. what kind of car do you have and what is your alternator amperage output right now. the kicker 2500.1 is big enough for 2 L7 15s. i would most deffinetly recomend a large capacitor for this system. with 4 l5s you will need roughly 3000 watts rms. so 2 of those amps, 1 amp per 2 subs will be more than enough. im not familiar with the kicker amp line. if they have anything more like a 2000.1 that would still be plenty power and less exspensive. if you have 4 ohm dvcs then you can wire to 1 ohm. is the 2500.1 1 ohm stable? thats something you need to find out. your deffinetly going to want to run atleast 2 gauge wire. i have 4 L7 15s and i run 0 gauge. if the subs are 2ohm dvc you will have to figure out how you would want to wire those. and when i say a large cpacitor i mean like 10 farad or more. i use a 30 farad power acoustik. alot of people would say this is a crappy cap. true it isnt the best one on the market but im running some serious power in my vehicle and this thing gets the job done for sure. if you havent already done THE BIG 3 is a good idea to upgrade. just look up the big 3 and you will find it easily on google. for 4 l5s you may need a High output alternator. 200 amp would be ideal. i know it sounds like alot but if you dont do everything the right way the first time you will end up doing it the right way at some point. if you dont get effiecent power to your system your not going to be happy with it at all.
just to give you an idea so maybe you can educate yourself alittle more before you get youself into this whole thing. im running 2 hifonics brutus bxi 2608s 2600 watts at 1 ohm rms. each one to 2 s15l7s 4 ohm dvc. a 300 amp alternator 2 batterys all 0 gauge wiring and the 30 farad cap. those subs and amps your talking about can pull serious amperage from your car in excess of 300 at a solid base note. let me know how you make out.... my email is [email protected] if you have any more questions. just trying to help.
