What you should have done was uninstalled the old motherboard drivers first as these drivers will be running the board although incorrectly, if you still have the installation disc run it as if to install, but it should show up with the option to uninstall the drivers.

Iam running xp2 my notherboard is pm800-m2 i found out that there is no sounds even i go to dxdiag to run sound testing but no to avial...i wonder if u could help what driver should i install this...

Most probably the audio/sound devices drivers are not properly installed or check your CMOS Bios to see the on board devices Audio devices is "ENABLED"!!

Check your "Devices Manager" to confirm whether your Audio devices for the motherboard is properly or correctly installed. Ensured that your speaker is properly plug into the correct output port.

If you do need the Audio drivers for your ECS motherboard, you can download the from the ECS Site.

Hope it helps.

you will find all the divers for you motherboard at the link above. install all the drivers : the one for the chipset first and the others after. If the board is ok and nobody had played with the jumpers on it you should get your sound.

PM800-M2 Restarting

reformat means that you have to install an fresh copy of your operating system to the hard drive. if you do have a cd of your windows installer like windows xp, just put it in your cd drive and restart your computer and boot from that cd. be sure to erase the partition that has your corrupt operating system installed ok to replace it with the new xp that your going to install...

that wasn't to hard was it?
