I have a 128mb memory stick in this camera. It is the one that came with camera, not a duo or plus, just memory stick. I need to find a reader compatible with this stick. I want to use the camera feature on this and have not been able to do so for some time using the stick. I have not been able to find one and Sony was no help at all. Any suggestions as to a reader that will work? Will I need another type of stick for use in this camera? s

SOURCE: sony memory stick pro duo

Well alot of the time there is a issue with the formating that the camera does on the stick and also when formating it on the computer it formats it another way as well. some in FAT and some in FAT32 this is ushally a error for the most part I would definatly plug your duo stick into a card reader and then go to my computer and the find the drive that the stick is in and right click on it and go to properties and do a error check on the stick to make sure that there is no errors. and if you can defragment after the scan then by all means do it and then format the card and try it and hopefully it will work out to your advantage.

*note this problem seems to only happen with the non branded duo sticks not the sony branded ones.*

SOURCE: memory stick pro duo sony won't read

Files on a flash drive and memory cards in a card reader can be corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon and then click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flash drive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the memory card and flash drive you may need to format the flash drive, but you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.
If you need the data on the flash drive these WEB sites may help: -

SOURCE: sony memory stick PRO duo 4gb card says memory full when empty

Do you have an adapter that you can use to plug it into your computer? If you do ... try formatting and defragging the chip with your windows tools.

SOURCE: CAN'T USE 2GB SONY MEMORY STICK PRO DUO CARD IN MY DSC P92,

Well, it seems as though this camera can only take 128MB sticks, but they are cheap if you can find them. Also, capitalizing everything does no good as it makes a post hard to read, shouts, and will get ignored by a lot of people.

SOURCE: Memory Stick Pro Duo with adapter not compatible with the camera

I am so sorry my friend, you have same problem as we all have, no memory bigger that 1 gb will work in cameras older than 3 years, I think yours is yes? the camera simply does not see those, sad I know, but that is how it is, I know because I have 3, yes 3 adaptors and 3 big mem bits here, and my money is lost.

Manual required and card reader or usb lead.

The manual can be downloaded from Sony:
http://www.sony.co.uk/product/dsc-other-series/dsc-p120#pageType=manual

The above page has a tab for accessories, including the USB cord; they give the part number, VMC-14UMB2. It is a 5 pin male mini B to 4 pin male B USB cable.

For the card reader, check if there is an update (firmware) for your card reader (from the manufacturer). Many will have this on their web site. (External card reader may need to be disconnected while this is installed.) Then make sure you insert the card in the correct orientation. If that doesn't help, look for a card reader that supports Memory Stick Pro/ Pro Duo slot (MG).

I hope this helps.

Have Sony CyberShot DSC-F707 Sony Memory Stick Duo Adaptor and Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo 4gb When installed get C:1301 error

Hi,

In DSCT1 Camera, the C:13:01 error message indicates a Self diagnostic message. Each of these codes indicates the symptoms and resolutions of the Camera. In C:13:01, the issue is with the Memory Stick being used in the Camera.

The Symptoms are:

Memory Stick Pro Duo 4GB is not compatible with the DSCF707 Camera. Maximum capacity supported by the Camera is up to 128MB. Please try using a MS with 128 MB and check if it works. A dedicated adapter (MSAC-M2) must be attached to use Memory Stick Duo or MagicGate Memory Stick Duo media.

Thanks.

When I install my Memory Stick Pro Duo 8GB in my camera it will format and take and store photos fine 1460 total. I then try to put the Memory stick in my card reader which says it supports this format it...

You need a new memory card reader. The reader isn't supporting the higher capacity of the new Memory stick. For a workaround, hook the camera directly into the computer via USB cable - then the camera itself becomes the reader and can transfer all of the pictures. Look for a reader that specifically does Memory Stick PRO Duo sticks, the PRO means the higher capacity.

Why does my DSC-P31 Camera won't accept Sony memory MSAC-M2?? and what are the list of memory stick that compatible to DSC-P31?? thanks

It is an old camera. It was introduced in 2002. The spec's I looked up just say memory stick, and memory included "8MB Memory Stick". I looked the MSAC-M2 up on line and it looks a like it's a "Memory Stick Duo Adapter" not a memory stick. I'd try one that is sold as a "Memory Stick".

MY PROBLEM IS THAT MY LAPTOP HAS WINDOW VISTA SYSTEM AND I CANNOT LOAD MY PHOTOS FROM MY SONY CYBERSHOT DSC P73. I NEED THE PROGRAM OR WHAT I NEED TO DO?

To make things easier, you should buy a card reader. There are different types.

MS Pro Card Reader - Is ONLY for the sony memory cards

Multi Card Reader - Will read sD, xD, Ms Pro Duo, Ms Pro, Compact Flash, Smart Media, etc.

Sony has a new memory stick out called the memory stick pro duo. Your P73 does not take this. The P73 takes the Memory Stick Pro. Which is a longer stick. You can go out to best buy or ritz camera and buy a card reader (Memory Stick Pro) and stick your memory card into the card reader and stick that into your USB port on your computer. Since it is USB, this will require NO SOFTWARE.

Your camera came out in 2004. Vista did not come out until early 2007. A lot of software does not work with vista.

128mb Sony Memory Stick Duo

Hi there,
This is a common problem and its quite easy to resolve.

I had a very similar problem with a friends nokia 5200 memory stick , it refused access to the card , i got the message disk is write protected I couldnt even access it from a PC card reader or format it .
Somehow he had accidentally set a security code for the memory stick and the mobile then forgot he had done it , I tried the usual code of 1,2,3,4 and this didnt work.
When I tried the number 1 on its own , suddenly I could access the memory stick again and format it and didnt get the message (disk is write protected)...Reset your P800 security codes with the master reset function in the main settings menu. This will remove any codes that restrict access to the memory stick...
