I have a KitchenAid KUDS01FLSS2 and was wondering if it is normal for the door to fall open... what I mean is the door requires to be supported when opening. Otherwise, the door will swing down and almost...

Yes indeed that sounds exactly like the door springs being broken. The springs are fairly easy to replace, what needs to be done to replace the springs is remove the lowest service panel/kick plate and hook the springs on the tub support frame/leg and the other end goes on a notch in the door hinges. The part number for the spring is 8270182 they could be purchased at your local appliance parts store or online at;

Even though only one may be broke its advisable to replace both at the same time.

Good luck,i hope i have been able to help you fix your dishwasher,

I have a Kitchenaid dishwasher model KUDS01FLSS2. I finished replacing the door balancer cord and started the dw up and it started leaking underneath from the bottom somewhere around the middle of the...

In this Kitchenaid dishwasher model KUDS01FLSS2, the whole motor and water pump assembly simply sits (I think loose) in the bottom of the DW. From the inside, it is the round mechanism where the sprayer is mounted above the chopper, all one piece sitting in (or mounted with) a large rubber washer around it. Somehow this assembly had lifted up slightly on one side which allowed the water to just poor through the bottom floor of the DW. I simply pressed down on the whole mechanism positioning back in its proper place. It did not take much pressure at all to position it back into its place. This stopped the leak and is working like a charm.

I have a kitchenaid superba diswasher that one of the door hinges has either popped off or broken. I need instruction on how to get into the door to replace it. Model KUDS01FLSS2

what you need to do is unscrew the screws at the top of the dishwasher that's securing the unit to the countertop. gently pull the d/w out from underneath the counter.. please be careful because you may have a copper water line connected to the d/w. if so, then you must remove the line because the copper does not allow you to move the d/w around without the copper line beginning to leak. if you have any other line you can maneuver ok. also, check to see if the electrical line is long enough. if not, secured the power and disconnected the electrial line. when you have all of the restriants out of the way, then pull the d/w out and reconnect the springs. you have 2 spring configurations. you can look at the other side that's not broken to see how to put the other side on. usually only 1 side breaks. you'll need to order the string that connects the spring to the plactic figure 8. take a look at each side and you'll see what im taking about. thanks.

Trying to access the pump and motor section

You should check the thermal fuse problem listed elsewhere on this site. My power went out on mine, and it was a cheap {less than $20 part} that snaps into the control panel. It eventually blew again a month later, and I replaced the heater element, and the new heater element came with a new board that was very easy to install. the new programming on the board actually speeds up the cycle due to a higher wattage heating element.

But what I didn't do the first time was replace the wires going to the thermal fuse that came with the replacement kit. (Apparently the OEM wires are too thin) Had I done that, I probably never would have tripped the fuse again and not bought the new heater element.
