Peerless Gas Boiler won't fire up on it's own

There are a few possible causes for your Peerless Gas Boiler not firing up on its own:
  1. Faulty thermostat: Check if the thermostat is functioning properly. Make sure it's set to the correct temperature and that it's calling for heat when the temperature falls below the set point.
  2. Pilot light issue: If the pilot light is not lit or keeps going out, the boiler won't fire up. Check the pilot light and ensure that it's lit and steady. If it's not, you may need to relight it or have a professional come to do it.
  3. Dirty burners: If the burners are dirty or clogged, the boiler may have trouble firing up. Clean the burners and ensure that they're free of debris or buildup.
  4. Faulty ignition system: If the ignition system is malfunctioning, the boiler won't fire up. Check the ignition system, and if it's faulty, have it repaired or replaced by a professional.
  5. Electrical issue: If there's an issue with the electrical wiring or control board, the boiler may not fire up. Check the wiring and control board for any visible damage or issues. If you can't identify the problem, have a professional check it.
It's important to note that gas boilers can be dangerous if not handled properly, so if you're not familiar with the system, it's best to have a professional take a look.

Cruise Control for Your Oil Burner to Save Money

The Beckett HeatManger is a microprocessor controlled device that will manage the on/off cycles of your boiler. Every time your boiler has to shut down and then restart your have just lost a bit of efficiency. By reducing the start/stop cycles of your boiler you not only reduce fuel consumption, but you also reduce wear on the parts of the boiler and emissions coming from your boiler. Your burner burns very inefficiently on startup and shut down. When I have my combustion analyzer on a burner it goes crazy with bad gasses right after shutdown.

If you have a fuel oil or gas fired boiler and you are wondering how you can save money on your heating bill without replacing your boiler then I have good news for you! By adding a simple device to the burner of your boiler you can be saving at least 10% in minutes

With this control if your thermostat requests heat and the HeatManager has sensed that there is heat available in the boiler, it will not start the burner until the heat is used up. When the burner is running, the HeatManger will optimize the runtime to match the boiler output to the load.

The unit is very easy to install. It is mounted to the junction box under the relay and wired into the normal burner relay wiring. There are a couple of sensors that need to be attached. One senses the supply water temperature for heating, coming out of the boiler and the other senses domestic hot water boiler supply temperature.

Even if you would decide to get a professional to install this unit you will be on the road to saving big dollars while only spending few hundred bucks. Then when the price of fuel oil and natural gas begins to rise again, which it will this winter, you will be getting even more savings from your small investment.

Saving money is always a good thing, but when you can combine saving money with greater comfort than I would call that a great thing!

Riello 40 burner giving off black smoke, new pump and nozel installed same problem?

Black smoke indicates a lean burn - meaning that the fuel to air ratio is to great for optimal combustion. This will cause a soot condition in the heat exchanger very quickly and drop efficiency. Too much air will make the burn to lean. The oil burner technician will do a smoke test and adjust the air intake damper on the burner motor as part of an annual tune up that includes setting the amount of carbon dioxide, excess air, stack temperature, draft and more. Doing so will provide the most efficient transfer of energy in the fuel to heat your building and prevent premature failure of the burner and furnace. To do this properly, you need the right test equipment - it can not done by "eyeballing" it.

Peerless Boiler - Turned off boiler to replace Circulator for the hot water. Turned furnace back on. Did not ignite. Tried to hit the reset button for 30 seconds and nothing happened. Furnace will

Did you bleed the air out of the pump. The boiler has a flow switch that has to make before it will let the boiler lite. Make sure you have all of the air out of the system and are pumping or flowing water and not air...Also check to see if you didn't happen to of tripped the limit it has a manual reset. Red Button on the front of limit.
