Have an Atwood Model MPD93756 lp water heater in my RV. It lights fine, but continues running until the water boils & relief valve starts leaking. Have replace the ECP thermostat assembly & Gas Valve,...

Are you 100% sure that new ECO & Thermostat were installed properly, and all surfaces where they make contact on tank are clean? If all is correct there, the thermostat should first cut out the power, then the ECO should thermostat fail. be sure you didn't mix the 2 up when installing them. ECO has higher cut out temperature. Only other thing to consider is pressure in the system may be higher than normal.

Hi i have a atwood 22.7 litre water heater model mpd93754 . IT ignites heats water, but wont shut off when it gets too hot. could you please help solve this problem . many thanks rod baker.

Gas control valve thermostat might be bad.
The copper cylinder located on back of gas control that sticks into water is the thermostat.
If thermostat is not reading correct temperature, then gas might stay lit.
Usually the gas control will sense overheated water and trip the ECO so no gas will flow to burner.
In any case, the gas control valve is replaced.

I have atwood GC6aa-9e, will not fire the ignition tries 3 sets

Have you tried temporarily removing the thermal cut-out from the circuit to see if ignites then? It's the little resistor looking thing inside the plastic sleeve/cover that runs to thermostat. Disconnect it from the thermostat terminal, and from wire that is on the other end, and you should be left with a female spade connector at end of that wire. Connect that directly to thermostat terminal where the other part was connected, and try it. If it works, the thermal cut out is no good and needs to be replaced for safety reasons, in case of flame out of control, it blows and shuts gas valve off.

I have a atwood hot water heater GC6AA-10E its o...

Does yours have the little cut-out diode looking thing in the plastic jacket installed between power wire and thermostat? If yes, remove it from the circuit and connect female spade of wire, to male spade of thermostat,(just removing it to by-pass it) and try it now. Let me know what happens.

Have an G6A-8E Atwood water heater. It Starts fine and shuts down after a couple of seconds. I can see the diode in the control board continue to spark after ignition I replaced the igniter.

If it has the little thermal cut-off in power wire to thermostat (has a little plastic jacket over it) try removing it, and connect female spade from power wire, directly to male spade on thermostat, and see what happens. Also, make sure electrode is positioned in flame good for flame sensing properly.

Atwood water heater runs for two minutes and shuts down, replace thermostat and EEC clean thermocoupler still no joy, short out thermostat lead it ran until the EEC open. any ideas???

If you have the little thermo cut off in the circuit to thermostat, (little resistor inside small plastic tube) try removing it from the circuit. Just pull the wires at each end and attach directly to thermostat where it was before. If it works now, you found the problem, if not, get back to me.
